BigBenzo88. I do think Herriman could make it to the Semi Finals if they get a few breaks. I see them losing in the quarters. Just my opinion.

By the way Copper Hills will finish below CW and not make the playoffs. Riverton will likely be the 4th seed from Region 4, unless they get upset by Lehi or AF. Orem will likely end up the #4 team in Region 8. I think either Olympus or Skyline doesn't make it. Either way, you will have played 3 playoff teams from your weak region 7. By far the bottom of 4A. All of the playoff teams you will have played will be out in the first round. Most in blowouts. Just sayin... you haven't played anyone yet.

@Sampson - I like your points. Herriman and fans like me simply have to be patient. The Riverton loss hurt very bad and Orem and Highland have not performed up to their level. In the end, I think Orem, Riverton, Highland, Copper Hills, Hillcrest, Skyline and Olympus will all make the playoffs giving Herriman games against 7 playoff teams.

So I believe our wins over Orem, Highland and Copper Hills will be more valuable later in the season. Even though the Riverton loss hurt, I believe it will prove important to the team as to the important of staying focused to the end.

I'm still expecting Herriman to win Region 7 and make the playoffs. I would love to see how Herriman matches up with Logan, Mountain Crest, Timpview, East, WX or Bountiful.

First, please remember that the rankings have no bearings on qualifying for state--they are bragging rights, nothing more.

Herriman has shown glimpses of greatness but they are victims of negative momentum. Thrashing Orem would have had a greater impact, but the Tigers began the season 0-2 with a loss at home to 3A Pine View--momentum killer. A narrow loss to Riverton would not hurt except for the fact that the Silverwolves were shutout the next week.dropped the next two games--momentum killer. Beating Highland, whose wins are over winless opponents (West, Cedar) isn't much to hang a hat on.

Compare that to your research on Lone Peak, Davis, and Mt. Crest. The DesNews did their homework.

    Re: just sayin

I thought last year was your year....as you kept reminding us every week until Timpview wrecked you rather easily.

But it's a new year. I do think though WX is legit this year. But I still take East. U will be a happy camper come Friday night if you can take East "just sayin"......good luck

East better be ready, cause the CATS are on the prowl. It will be close but I see a WX victory on our field Friday night. I like our match ups with East, more talent. This is our year!! Let's GO CATS!!! Let's GO WX!!!!

Relax Benzo, rankings don't mean a whole lot, especially at this point in the season. Be patient, and region play will probably sort everything out.

I'm biased too, but that's what happens when you lose games that you shouldn't. the Riverton loss still kills me. After re-watching that game, I'm more convinced that Herriman should have killed those guys. I think the problem was that the Herriman kids walked out there expecting to thump them, and sadly, I think the Riverton kids wanted it more. It looked like it was more important to them.

Hopefully, Herriman learned a valuable lesson, because they shouldn't lose a region game, but Skyline, and especially Oly, are good enough to beat them if they have another week like Riverton.

I am biased...but I am wondering why Lone Peak, Mountain Crest and Davis are ranked above Herriman.

    Lone Peak: 2-2
WINS: +2 over Mountain Crest and +24 over Highland
LOSS: -10 to Bountiful and -3 to Timpview
My take: Lone Peak has one more loss than Herriman and has a similar result with common opponent Highland. Looks like Lone Peak is being given credit for staying close in Bountiful and Timpview losses.

    Mountain Crest: 2-2
WINS: +40 over Mountain View and +31 over Weber
LOSS: -2 to Lone Peak and -3 to Woods Cross
My take: Mountain Crest has one more loss than Herriman. Looks like Mountain Crest is being given credit for staying close in Lone Peak and Woods Cross losses.

    Davis: 3-1
WINS: +28 over Viewmont, +11 over Cottonwood and +23 over Hunter
    LOSS: -7 to Brighton
My take: Davis has the same record as Herriman. Davis' 3 wins are not as impressive has Herriman's 3 wins and the loss to Brighton is either equal to or worse than Herriman's one loss.

I believe Herriman should be in the #13 spot in Utah.

Why would I find it hard to believe that Roy would beat teams like Pine View, Dixie and Spanish Fork in 3A. Or in 4A beating a team like Highland. Or in 5A beating a team like Pleasant Grove or Layton? Or even 2A teams like San Juan or Manti. Roy is definitely feel good story of the year but I'm not sure they are this good.
