Great payoff for Ridley. Hope to see a lot more of those catches and tough play from him this year.

I've known Skyler since he was a little kid. Watched him play all through high school and I knew he was a hard worker and had talent but even I was a little surprised at his big game against WSU. With the bigger, faster receivers BYU has recruited in recent years, Skyler got buried on the depth chart but to his credit, he didn't give up and was fully prepared when his opportunity came. He's still a junior so it looks like we'll be in good shape next year, even if Hoffman ends up having a huge year and leaving early for the NFL as some have speculated.

What I liked about Skyler was his toughness. He got popped a few times and bounced up with swagger. With the role he might play, Skyler will have to be able to do that as a WR is BYU's offense. He also made some nice grabs and surprised me some with his route running.

Loved the slow motion replay of Skyler's TD. He ran a perfect rout which created distance from the DB. Beautiful TD catch. Reminded me of Austin Colie. Can't wait to see more from Ridley.

Riley Nelson finally open up his vision wider and found Skyler Ridley. Well done and keep it up.

Doesn’t it warm your heart to hear about the guy that nobody believed has a chance; then to watch him succeed because of his hard work, dedication and personal effort? It’s what America is all about; opportunity to be rewarded for personal effort and refusing to give up! Congratulations Skylar, lots of people admire you and what you have accomplished!

There were a couple of surprises for me in this game, and Ridley was one of them. If you would have told me it was a non-starter catching the first TD - I would have guessed Mathews and yet there was no mention of him. I was more impressed with the ball that Ridley went up high to catch than his TD catch. Hopefully we'll see more of this kid. But hopefully we'll also see Hoffman back in the line-up in Week 2 or 3.

When he caught that pass, I said, "who is that guy??!!" Never heard of him. What a catch.

"... but having my teammates run up to me and hearing the fans — it was an amazing experience that I'll never forget."

Congrats on a great breakout game Skyler! Here's hoping for you many more opportunities like these in the future.

I bet Bronco's book has something about him teaching kids humility, honor, spirit and such.

When a 'spotlight' hits you don't blow the moment. Take it in, enjoy the warmth, say something appropriate, and get back to work.

A walk-on kid at BYU has earned his stripes. Love it!
