I hope that Wynn is truly healthy and that he can stay healthy. He has had moments of greatness throughout his career compromised by something or other. Health has always been the scapegoat, and certainly he has had health issues, but I'd like to see a full season.

BTW: I'm a BYU fan, but support Utah in every other game because I'm also loyal to my state. I don't get the hatred thing. I get guys playing the testosterone-fueled game of spirited "my school is better than your school". It can be fun.

I just don't get the hatred. Give it a rest. You won't be a lesser person and you'll feel better. Chill.

Dude, you do realize 7 fumbles had something to do with it, right? And Wynn contributed very little to the game. how many yards offense?

Can't wait for the rematch. And BYU will make sure the game is televised on a real national network, not some half-baked wannabe, over promised and non-delivered wish of a network.

"You cannot just win on defense alone"

Dude, you do realize the Utes stomped the Y with Wynn's very compromised shoulder last year, don't you?

"You can't win a game with defense alone."

Well, our Defense won the Utah-BYU game last year, 14-10. So, I guess Defense can win a game alone.

Just worry about Idaho State, we'll worry about USC.

    @Duckhunter and @sammyg

I'm going to eat some crow and publicly state my disappointment that the Pac12 Network hasn't managed to get the DirecTV deal done. I never expected Dish to be done this early, but DirecTV is another story.
Don't get me wrong, I have Comcast anyway and will obviously be happily watching my Utes ... but it's a disappointment that the Ute fans on satellite won't see any games until things get worked out.
That begin said, in the long term I think Pac 12 fans will be thankful that Larry Scott and the gang are holding out to get the right deal in place. The point is to have good distribution without the end user having to pay out the nose. My guess is it will be worked out by the time USC plays Cal or shortly thereafter. The more populous area of LA and with USC most likely still number 1 or 2 in the polls will put a lot more pressure on getting the deal done.
Ute fans ... start switching to Comcast. Send the message. It's not hard to switch back when the satellite deal is done.

The Utes will have a good season regardless of Wynn's health. I hope for Wynn's sake he stays healthy all season. It seems to me he's earned it. But even if he goes down, the Utes proved last year they can win without him. Hayes and his backup are better prepared this year than last. And the supporting cast is stronger this year than last. Go Utes!

Nice to see the Utes biggest "fan" sammyg out and commenting first. You might want to worry more about your boy Nelson. What exactly has he done? Beat USU at home? Maybe it was that Hawaii or Tulsa game? Heaps took all the heat because he lost to all the good teams on your schedule last year. I have a feeling that the byU faithful will have reason to start booing at LES at some point this year. Just a feeling though.

    Utah 55
    NC 3

    Go Utes!

"This will be the first football game ever broadcast by the Pac-12 Networks. Conference commissioner Larry Scott will be on hand to commemorate it."

Good thing because he sure couldn't watch it on tv.

Football is here!!!! Yeah baby! Good luck to my Utes this season. Good luck to all of our teams in the state of Utah. Tonight Utah, BYU, and Logan State are all in action and there seems to be a sense of harmony and balance in our sports world. Now if we could only get the lousy politicians to start feeling some love and work together we might have something.

The good news is there's no news about his side arm throwing motion like year:

"Jordan Wynn acknowledged Monday... the fact that his motion is more sidearm this year." --SLT

So maybe he is as healthy has they've said all fall camp. Lets hope he remains healthy, a and just in case give Wilson enough reps during our scrimmage games against Northern Colorado and BYU.

@sammyg: "You can't win a game with defense alone."

Apparently you can against your team:

Utah 17 BYU 16: Utah played 5 minutes of good offense
Utah Defense 14 BYU 10: The other 30 points was just bonus

Can't wait until tomorrow, GO UTES!!

    Carson, my newest fan...

I've noticed you 'stalking' me. Forgive me if I feel a little uneasy about your obsession with me of late.

I do enjoy giving 'it' back to you utesies. How could I possibly have depression with this? It's the cheapest entertainment in the state, poke a stick in the 'hill' and watch the 'ants' come out.

It's like a programmed response in a test lab, do this and watch what happens.

Catch the latest on the PAC 12 Network? No DirectTV deal per Jon Wilner for Thursday's opening kickoff.

I think Wynn will be fine this year, and I expect him to be healthy throughout. I expect to see the offense designed to protect him much like it was during Johnson's senior year.

That being said, it is nice to have a much more stable situation backing Wynn up than we had last year. Wilson is a stud, and Johnson has already said Hays was one of the players most improved over the off season. He's an absolute gamer. Most people don't know that Hays had his knee operated on right after the bowl game. He injured it shortly after Wynn went down, but there was nobody else there.

The future is bright. Go Utes.

Better hope that new O-line holds! I bet Wynn has a bad case of mental cobwebs going on right now.

It's a shame that Ute football has come to this. Will Jordan survive a few games or not?

Good luck Utes, you're going to need it this season with this guy at the helm and a weak O-line or it's last year all over again.

You can't win a game with defense alone.
