He is a terrifying looking young fellow. I would not want to be the one to try to tell him he was the product of favoritism. He looks like he could crush your spleen just by looking at it. Good luck, Jason!! Go Utes!

I went to high school with him, and I can tell you he's a good student as well as a good athlete, wow, he is so much bigger than he was in high school!!!

Asking no favors - giving none! Watch out Utah opponents. Jason personifies the personality of the Utah football team.

I just checked out Jason's 2009 state championship throws in the shot put. Absolutely amazing. The fact that he could throw very nearly 55 feet with only two weeks of practice is mind-blowing. Staggering. I'm 6'7" and 300#, and it took me four years to get to that point. Sure would've been nice to see an athlete like that lining up in blue-and-white, but best of luck, anyway.

Hard to believe no other schools put much effort into recruiting Jason. Way to go BYU!

Totally agree with Hawkyo. Hope the Utes can perform well in the PAC 12 and earn respect. I'm hopeful my Cougars will get revenge for last year's beating, but otherwise wish the Utes well in their season.

SUU and Utah State are also poised for big years. Should be fun to watch the football programs in the state play great ball.

Whit strikes me as the kind of guy who will give pointers, and suggestions, but nepotism would never happen. Good luck Utes,(just not against my Cougars) do the state proud. It's kind of nice to have all three of the big schools doing better than in the past.
