We are falling into the same traps old world fell into. While the US marched forward and took the lead in the global economy by embracing innovation, Europe clung to it's old ways and largely feel behind, focused on preserving old ways. Now the tables are turned and we culturally are reseeding into protectionist and isollationist patterns, and fearing change . Innovation is what made this country great... Let's hope we don't loose that fire.

Great piece. An indictment of modern day conservatism. The swing has just gone too far and not only are we polarized as a nation, but we are also regressing. We need to move forward, people, not move backwards.
