We know that Obama is a liberal that shares the views from the community (Chicago) that he comes from. They don't trust citizens with firearms in that city.

All we need to do is view the failed "Operation Fast And Furious" to see Obama's mentality on the subject. In his desire to go after gun dealers Obama managed to arm the Mexican drug cartels and get an American Border Patrol agent killed.

The GOP is still searching for its narrative ... it tried to say Obama was "anti-motherhood" but that is fast sinking as the discussion is increasingly on how Ann Romney had the OPPORTUNITY to stay home given her wealth -- not a option that the 99 percent have.

Now, they're experimenting with fears of "Obama is going to take your guns away." Please! The election is going to hinge on jobs and the economy. Quit these silly sideshows!

Does the GOP have anything beyond tax cuts for the wealthy and "drill baby drill" and continued subsidies for oil to keep us addicted to the oil industry?

@ George. Its not the gun industry that has convinced gun owners to buy now, its Obama’s past voting record on the 2nd amendment rights. Intelligent gun owners just know the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior, hence the increase in sales of firearms. If you doubt this, do some research and check out Obama’s voting record in the Senate on the 2nd amendment.

I haven't decided who to vote for, but the stereotypes and cliches of modern politics are very frustrating. President Obama has expressed support for gun rights and has done NOTHING to curtail them. The NRA likes having Harry Reid in the Senate leadership beacuse they know he will kill any gun control legislation on arrival. The NRA loved democrats in the past too--like Zell Miller.

On the other hand, when Romney was governor he supported tripling gun license fees and passed an assault weapons ban when the federal one expired.

Romney has some strengths but he has nothing on Obama on this issue. The NRA gave his Democratic opponent a higher rating in 2002!

When Obama became the President, gun sales went through the roof making Obama the greatest gun salesman in America!

I guess its better to flip to the right side than to be firmly planted in dreamland. Three years after barack said unemployment wouldnt reach 8 percent if he was allowed his first spendathon its still over 8 percent. Oops!

Running for the Senate in 1994, Romney said: "I don't line up with the NRA." A decade later he became a lifetime NRA member.

Is there ANY issue this guy hasn't flip-flopped on?
