    * Romney gave away his inheritance and earned his own wealth.
    * Earning two degrees from Harvard and building wealth shows hard work. Compare school transcripts between Romney and Obama, and there is a vast difference. I'd like to see them take identical IQ tests for us to compare.
    * Most of the taxes paid, came from the rich.
    * Half of our people pay no income taxes and benefit from the rich.
    * Increasing taxes on the rich, means they will not employ as many people. Higher unemployment.
    * Obama and his friends are multi-millionaires who use tax loopholes also. Do they volunteer to pay more?

    Mark B,

Lavish vacations and campaign tours are two different things. Obama vacation to Hawaii cost us about sixty million. Spain vacation around five hundred million. Than there's Martha's Vineyard, India, Vail Colorado, etc. No taxes paid on these.

    Campaign tours is another expense.

If worf thinks that campaigning is a form of "lavish vacation", he is sadly mistaken. It's work, frequently hard work in places where you might not want to be, talking with people anxious for a favor they feel you could grant them. There's no sin in being rich, but if giving tax breaks to rich people helped the economy, we would have had a boom during the Bush years. We didn't, but Romney and the GOP want to do it all again, only MORE so. BTW, campaign trips by the president are not paid for by tax dollars, as worf should know.

Only one of these guys find richness unfair, but won't evenly redistribute his wealth to the rest of us. He would rather spend our tax money for lavish vacations, and campaign tours.

    The choice is clear.

It's not about who has more money and more about how they earned it. Most upper-level politicians are rich, you pretty much have to be in order to run for office, that's a given. It’s hard to stay in touch as we’ve seen with many of our past presidential candidates (Bush at the checkout stand, etc.) But the attention will be how the money was obtained and how "in-touch" one is vs. the other. Obama comes from a very humble back ground, raised by his grandparents in Hawaii. He worked hard for everything he earned. Romney on the other hand was born into prestige and wealth. His father was the CEO of AMC about the time Mitt was born. Mitt doesn't know hard times. Mitt is obviously uncomfortable away from the "Country Club" (of sorts) atmosphere and it's painfully obvious every time he gets around the "common folk". Obama is seen as compassionate toward the working man, the middle-class... the 99% if you will. Romney has a problem because he's embraced the "Ryan Plan” which continues the tax breaks for the wealthiest.
