    Yep, Im shocked ;)

In any case, I do like Hays. I've been a Hays supporter since day one and will continue to be a Hays supporter. He saved our butts last year along with JWIV and that in itself should earn him more respect. haha. Unless he REALLY messes up, I don't think he should be passed over for two freshmen. But thats just my opinion really. The Freshmen will have their day.

I'm sure this will greatly disturb you but... I agree with you.

When several Ute fans were fawning over the new QB meat a couple of weeks ago I mentioned that Hays had been thrown under the bus in the article. The article didn't mention his name at all. In my comment I mentioned that Hays was a D1 QB. I got slammed for that comment by a Ute fan.

Hays deserves the #2 position, he earned his stripes. From a nobody from a discontinued jc program to being a starting D1 QB and winning a bowl game. That's a story his kids & grandkids will enjoy.

I would think that Wynn will start Hays will back him up, and Wilson will red shirt. Hansen will play in the wild cat offense.

Travis Wilson and Hansen will probably red shirt. Hansen goes on mission, Hayes is back up this year. Nothing changed from last year. It's Wynn's job to lose. That's obvious. But they're not going to waste a year of eligibility on Wilson if he's just going to sit behind Wynn. It would be stupid to play him over Wynn anyway. We made that mistake by putting Wynn in too early as a freshman.

#4 on the depth chart for Spring ball does not mean #4 when the season starts. Wynn will be the starter and the rest will be determined after Fall camp. The good news is that the U actually has two freshman challenging for a back up role which is a big difference from last year when (supposedly) Shreve couldn't pick up the offense enough to be a back up.

I really like Hays. He was a real fighter for us last year and I honestly think he should be given the #2 spot behind Wynn. He did nothing but improve between the UW and Georgia Tech games and now that he's had time running the offense I think he really has come a long way.

Yes, the freshmen look good, but they are STILL freshmen. I would much rather take Hays, who has experience playing D1 football (in the Pac12 No less) over some kids who are just out of high school. I think Wilson and Hansen will prove to be very good for us in time, but I just don't see a need to throw them into the fire their first year here. I think its ok to use spring ball as a way to see what they can do, But don't think that is our only option.

Bottom Line, I trust Hays with the ball. Noone knows how Wynn will do this season (well I hope) but I feel comfortable letting Hays run the offense. I think He deserves the #2 spot at the very least. He's earned it.

    Go Utes!!
