If Santorum said that Governor Romney has a deep understanding of the important issues confronting our country today, and he is the clear conservative candidate that can go into the general election with a united Republican party, in 2008 and nothing has changed with Governor Romney as far as being a conservative. Santorum needs to realize his ego to become President of the United States of America needs to stop and that a unified Party is more important. After almost a year of off and on battle in the changed process of the Party for the Presidential campaign, it is not the same as in the past. Everyone has run a good race but it is also time that the politics of the inner Republican Party change for the battle of the campaign. It needs to be a Team of Rivals, now and not after the convention in order to win.

There is a video out there of Santorum endorsing Romney in '08. "If you want a conservative as the nominee of this party, you must vote for Mitt Romney..."

Santorum has some problems about his ego. He states that he is strong and Romney is weak. Strong on ego may be Santorum but strength is what Romney has. He has strong qualifications (best), he has the strongest life experiences as a leader in Government, Business, Volunteerism, and Religious Christian and personal involvement. In fact, Mitt Romney has the only leadership in business qualifications and not just on the radio publishing himself on the Bill BennettÂs ÂMorning in America program for a large salary prior to mandatory getting out for campaign purposes. Listening to some of the elected officials in Pennsylvania talk about their losses in 2006 when Santorum was defending his campaign when he lost, it is not the first time that Santorum has had the ego problem.

I love how Santorum equates himself to God in the second to last paragraph of this article.

Santorum says Romney is a "weak frontrunner" - but, he is the frontrunner, sir. Romney will sew up the nomination by mid-April. Then we can focus on ousting Obama, and avoid another 4 year nightmare. If you think the last 4 years were bad, and we all know they were, just imagine the damage four more years under Obama will do.

If Romney gets the nomination I can't help but wonder if Santorum will claim it was "God" that did it like he would if he won it. Gosh, I didn't know Santorum was authorized to speak for Him. Santorum must think God wanted Democrats to cross over, too. I wasn't aware that He also was so subtle in helping determine presidential nominations. What a revelation, Rick! And to think it's all about you......

Santorum kind gave up on PR when he opened his mouth.

Agree with David's comments. And Mr. Santorum, the only "flaw" that I can see being exposed is the apparently alive and thriving religious bigotry in the South.

Santorum states that Romney has a huge advantage in money, organization & establishment support. He tries to make it sound like these things are negatives. But Santorum hasn't prepared as well, even failing to get himself on some state ballots.

His claim that Romney hasn't sealed the nomination doesn't reflect Romney as a weak candidate as much as it reflects the different way of distributing delegates. In previous campaigns it was a winner take all for each state. This year it is a proportional delegate distribution. I wonder what Romney's total delegate. Punt would be right now if it was a winner take all for each state this year? And what would be the other candidates.

The current system was designed to draw out the contest, giving more power to all the states rather than just those up to super Tues.
