Glad to hear you are ready to support a new coach. Let the search committee begin (next week of course after the tournament)

I'm a true T-Bird fan. I love all sports at SUU but I hate when everyone singles out a coach like this. If you singled out Lamb which would be stupid to do I'd jump all over you. I am a Bird fan through and through. I bleed red, white, and black. I just can't stand the disrespect being shown to a current Thunderbird coach by these supposed fan's. If Mr. Beazer says goodbye to coach Reid and hello to a new coach then I support it fully. Cause I love this school and it's athletics. I just have one question for all. Were all of you this much against the coach that Reid replaced? Mr. Beazer obviously felt there needed to be a change then. I am a current SUU student and this will ALWAYS be my school. I live in Iron County and support my school and the coaches while they are here. No one else does that.

Hey Stang: I wouldn't think anyone will be making noise if the team doesn't do well next year under a new coach, except maybe you from Utah County. It might be time for you to head back to your alumn, either BYU or Michigan. When you are up there, go ask BYU fans if the 1-26 season was due to Reid, even though wasn't there due to being dismissed. Pretty sure 9 million members were not disappointed about that decision.

Players have left SUU after realizing what it is really like. The love the school and community but the basketball program and Reid turned out to far different that what was said during recruiting. This info is not some wild assumption, it is fact If players do stay, it is due to the efforts of Coach Brown, or they are transfering to SUU or have already burned up a red-shirt. Oherwise, they seek a red-shirt and move on. More very good high players will never consider coming to SUU while Reid is the coach. If you are unaware of that fact, you need to get out of Iron County a little more. Your support of Reid is admirable. If you are a true T-Bird, why are you putting your support behind AD Beazer and what he will be able to do in finding the next coach?

Stang: At first it appeared like you were a true T-Bird fan however it's clear you are just a Reid fan. Any chance you will be going back to Utah County with him? It is hard to figure out why you say that Reid's leaving creates an experience gap and new coach wouldn't do anything next year. Reid's experience delivered losing for 5 years. Take your advice to Big Blue,

Just out of curiosity, what kind of players would you say Jones, Taylor, and Massey are? Those are top notch players who could've probably made it at any other school but choose to play for coach Reid. And if a new system comes in and doesn't make noise next year it has NOTHING to do with coach Reid's past. But watch it's going to be a dismal season next year and even though he may be gone EVERYONE but me (a true SUU fan) is going to still be pointing fingers at Roger Reid. Once again it's the players that lose games not the coach. And we had/have some of the best players in recent SUU history.

Interesting dialog. A coach does have control over recruiting and building a sustainable program. Five years is plenty of time to do that at SUU. If next year is going to be tough due to lack of experience as indicated by one commentary, it is absolutely Reid's fault. Who else is responsible?
It is true that players win and lose games. However, it is coaches that bring in the players. Real SUU fans do support the current team and players yet is doesn't erode their loyality by wanting change at the coaching position.
Reid had his opportunity and couldn't get 1 winning season over a 5 year period. Sad to hear that next year may be worse due to a lack of experience because that will clearly be the results of Reid's recruiting efforts, or lack thereof. Lets just hope SUU doesn't go through what BYU did when Reid left, a 1-26 season.

Sorry but what do you mean typical pattern? He is a stand up guy and anyone who says otherwise is just kidding themselves. The players got themseleves in a hole and although they dug out of it they couldn't totally get out of it. That's the way it is. The players unfortunatly couldn't get the job done. Hate to break it to everyone but a new coach won't do anything next year. Won't have enough experience.

What I want to know is why both SUU coach and Snow's coach are still around. Both have consistently produced teams that underperform consistently. We need competent men who can get the most out of their players leading these teams. Reid got thigns rolling while at Snow but under the new coach Ostlund Snow has fallen back on their underperforming ways. I agreee with the previous posts. Reid has not been able to do at SUU what he was able to do while coaching at Snow College. Both coaches should and probably will be gone after this year.

USU and SUU have both struggled this year. Difference is SUU has produced 5 straight losing seasons under Reid. He had plenty of time and money to turn it around and he didn't. Hopefully he will exit with class and not blame everyone else like his typical pattern. Either way, his era is over and a new time begins as SUU heads into Big Sky.
Thanks for the memories Jones, Massy and Taylor and best of luck in the tournament next week. Good luck to Reid as he packs up to head back in his perminent home in Payson.

Five straight losing seasons is the antthesis of what Stew has done in Cache Valley. I am sure Roger Reid is a stand up guy but he is not making good things happen in Cedar.

It was a heck of a game. All seniors fought hard in their last game. If it's Coach Reid's last game I know it's not the way he wanted to go out but I mean come on you can't be completely upset when your team and seniors put up the biggest fight of their carrer's. What are you still doing here Go Big Blue? Your not a Thunderbird. Coach Reid has done a little better then coach Morril I'm guessing. That team if you can call it that is pathetic this year.
