You can ask any player its more embarrassing when a team doesnt even try against
you then when a team runs up the score
Anyways....good luck to all of the teams in the playoffs! I will be cheering on
Stansbury, and a few other teams in other divisions as well. Gotta support
family, you know? @ d0wns0uth Hurricane is tearin it up this season. So props
Let them enjoy it, they have not played anybody yet. So let the crying begin in
the next 2 weeks.
The score is a bit much, but you can't ask kids to not try. If BL doesn't like
it, do something about it on the field.
It sounds like Stansbury took all reasonable measures not to run up the score.
Sometimes things like this happen. I think Coach Christiansen would understand
this more than anyone as he was the coach when Timpview ran up the score on
Provo 63-0. Unlike this game Timpview kept the starters in the whole game, did
an onside kick (twice) ahead 42-0 and called time out to try to score again
before half, also ahead 42-0. It doesn't sound like this game went like that
one. It sounds like the second units/JV units on down got a chance to play
significant time and simply executed well.Congrats to Coach
Christiansen and Stansbury for a great season. It will be interesting to see how
far the Stallions can go in the 3A playoffs.
LOL! I have MORE than walk in those shoes.. I am a SINGLE MOTHER working TWO
JOBS!!! I have support FOUR football players on my own since they were 8 years
old.. traveled.. paid to get in.. sat in rain.. snow.. sun & more. So get
off your soap box and check the boundaries of SHS we are a hard working class
community.. SHAME ON YOU!
@proud lineman mom"Where was THEIR SUPPORT? I don't know how
they do things up there but i know that me along with SHS parents traveled win
or lose from the beginning."Wow! thats a bold statement. What
exactly are you trying to say? That BLHS parents don't love and support their
children? Is anyone else from Ogden offended? That is my point. Until
you walk a mile in someone elses shoes please keep comments like that to
yourself. I happen to know that BLHS has families that are not as affulent as
some. With work schedules and extra cost for gas, game tickets, ect, some may
find it hard to get to games that far away. You are assuming a lot. I am sure
most parents would love to spend an evening under the stars watching thier child
play football.Unfortunatly whether it be scores in football games or
life, we all will at one time or another will be humbled. Good luck to you.
I can appreciate We wear Blue's comment.. SHS was in that same boat their first
two years and know all to well what it feels like. As for that game last night?
Besides trying to throw 'karma' into it you want to take a well played game away
from the players. Not just SHS players but Ben Lomond. Ben Lomond boys played
HARD, they got into the end zone TWICE, and no matter what Stansbury did or how
hard SHS SIDE CHEERED for them to get into the end zone the younger classman did
what they have trained so hard to do. There was no malice in what happened last
night and SHS coaches did everything possible. My heart went out to Ben Lomonds
team. Where was THEIR SUPPORT? I don't know how they do things up there but I
know that me along with SHS parents traveled win or lose from the beginning.
Don't try to take this from the SHS players or put Ben Lomond down, all those
boys put their hard work into every season!!
I'm a starting varsity player at SHS and was one of the first players pulled
from the game; 8 min. left in 2nd quarter. With 6 min. left in the 2nd quarter
the varsity was pulled out (except for special teams). Before half entire
varsity out and starting JV was in (additionally our JV is mostly sophomores).
Third quarter played by JV team. Fourth quarter played by 2nd team JV.
"just_me" asked who the jv and 2nd team jv quarterbacks were... JV QB
is Alex Mackay (soph) and 2nd JV QB Dallin Diederickson (soph). I would also
like to point out that every player on the SHS roster played. You mention
"karma"... the score was not purposely "run up," all teams
executed plays correctly. Coaches did all they could NOT to run up the score.
Ogden ran the score up 56-0 against Ben Lomond in 2009. Hop down from your
horse. You can't tell the second string not to score.
@we wear blue- I agree with you! And I can guarantee if a school would of done
this to Stansbury last year in 4A, Stansbury coaches would of thrown a fit! @masta55- I am curious who is your jv quarterback and 2nd team jv quarterback?
I hate to see this kind of score in high school sports. All this tells me is the
coach allowed the score to be run up to fuel his ego.Just remember that
when someone runs up the score on you. Karma
