He might could still have one more growth spurt in him - has been known to
happen for others, well, besides me....Welcome to another Ainge.
I'd welcome Cooper Ainge as a perferred walk-on. Y does need bigs, without
which they may be good, but never get past sweet 16. BYU identity will take
shape as time moves along, I like where Y is right now. Though imperfect, Y
effort to compete with integrity, in their own unique way, is much appreciated.
Gentle DN Writer, The article should have Stated this was the FOURTH Ainge to
play Basketball for BYU. Danny's Brother "Doug" played FIRST for the Y
during the '73-'74 season. Doug Lived in Helaman Halls with a High School Buddy
of mine. One would think the DN Fact Checker would have caught this omission
Madden, in the words of BKP, "Not So!" What you refer to is a
"preferred walk-on", not a run-of-the-mill walk-on."In some instances, a college coach/recruiter may designate an athlete as
a "preferred walk-on" during the scouting process. In this situation,
the athlete is assured a spot on the team, however the coach is unable or
unwilling to offer a scholarship." Wikipedia, "Walk-on (sports)".
Aggielove,Probably a better ball player than you or apparently someone you
know...like the other family members. Chill. Going through life so bitter will
prematurely age you.
"Aggielove | 7:07 p.m. Oct. 4, 2011 Junction City, OregonProbably arrogant like the other family members"Danny Ainge
is the greatest BYU player ever, better than that jammer guy. You should be
grateful his son is committing to walk on, whatever that means.
Aggielove | 7:07 p.m. Oct. 4, 2011 Junction City, OregonProbably
arrogant like the other family members-------The irony of that
statement probably escaped you...
Probably arrogant like the other family members
He's probably better than his dad was and better than Austin was. What I don't
understand is why he didn't take any of the other scholarship offers he had. He
must really like BYU, but not as much as BYU likes him.
DEW Cougars | 4:28 p.m. Oct. 4, 2011 . Who knows, he might be better
than his ... dad Danny. ----------Wanna bet?
Walk on means they don't have a scholarship for him, but he will be on the team
(presumably to get on scholarship the following year if he proves himself). I
don't think the Lakers are holding a spot on their roster for anyone posting
As I remember Danny younger son was a handfull which sound good to Cougar team.
Who knows, he might be better than his brother Austin or his dad Danny. Welcome aboard Cooper - Go Cougars!
Hey Johhny: every media source states that the Big 12 is very interested in
BYU. Its not hype, its fact. In fact, most people think the offer is in
hand. And how does this subject pertain to Ainge's boy walking on at BYU?
all of your comments are very funny, esp. Ruben!
Someone else to razz.
How do you commit to walk on? BTW, next year, I commit to walk on with the
Media needs to knock it off with the BYU to Big12 talk, even ESPN analyst Forde
said BYU needed to find its identity. Last I checked BYU was firmly independent
in football, not undecided. It's the media that is accelerating all the talk
and causing this mess.
I guess the WCC afiliation isn't hurting us after all! Ainge's son is willing to
walk on to play for my cougs.
You may ask that Jeff proofread his articles. "two decases later?"
are you kidding me? this was worth an article? a walk-on? man, decent news
must be in short supply. Tell me when Jabari Parker signs.
It is exciting to have an Ainge, but I agree with H8 Red, we need bigs.
Oh boy another 6' point guard recruit. That makes about a dozen now.
