these grades are way off. losing 1-0 at home is not a positive result. nobody aside from olave deserved an A.

robbie was bad in both legs. watch the replays of the 3 goals monterrey scored. his reaction when he and olave got split on suazo's goal was baffling. beltran should've started and saved us a sub.

sabo clearly isn't 100% but kreis won't bench him. he was out of synch and ball watched all night.

arturo didn't adjust well to the game. moves that work in reserve matches usually don't work against primera division defenders.

espi was dangerous getting shots and drawing corners. can't help but think what might've been if sabo had subbed out instead when paul came in. espi and paulo play so well together and combo play was sorely lacking.

will put in his usual effort but also had some bad give aways. ned played okay--his biggest failing is that he wasn't kyle. javi was ok but floated in and out of the game and turned it over a bit much.

great run. here's to next year!

Horrific loss, historic opportunity lost. RSL fell asleep with five minutes to go in the 1st, I could smell a goal coming a mile away. Credit Suazo & Santana for a nifty play, but c'mon. Olave & Russell just stood there instead of blocking out. LOL at their grades.

Overconfident, sloppy, poor adjustments, very disappointing. Credit Monterrey's defense, but they were dead on offense in the 2nd, no legs at all, what a shame.

Similar to what the others said. I thought Espindola was very good, just got unlucky on a couple shots but very dangerous. Sabo was terrible last night, and has been since he played at Rio Tinto vs. Saprissa. He looked slow, his touches on the ball were atrocious, and he provided absolutely NO threat to score. I kept hoping Kries would pull him.

What a disappointing loss. I think we were overconfident going into the match with our two away goals. As soon as I saw the fortress promo I began to get nervous that Real was counting on the stadium to win it for them. Which is always a great way to get beat and lose your streak.

But now we need to put it behind us and rebound. Let's win the MLS cup.

I agree with the above poster - several of the grades were too high. Saborio deserves a C, Espindola deserves a C+. You also can't have two votes for Man of the Match. It's either Olave, or it's Johnson. Personally, I didn't think Johnson did enough to merit MotM. Olave did very well, but he got skinned on Suazo's goal every bit as much as Russell did. They both got caught ballwatching.

Monterrey are a good team, but they could have won with a little class and without all the flopping, acting, and time wasting they did in the second half. Suazo, in particular. What a clown. I thought I was watching Arabe Unido again with all of the ridiculous antics of the players trying to waste time.

Bottom line, this is an absolutely gut-wrenching loss. There is no guarantee RSL will ever be in this position again, with such a golden opportunity to win it all. Certainly not next year, since we didn't qualify. Who knows if we'll ever have this good of a team again? Just devastating.

Your grades are way too high!!! Espindola and Saba both deserve Cs at best. C=average and they were barely average. The biggest weakness on the team was them. As for the rest of the team, no one deserves higher than a B+ if you are losing. I know we are trying to be optimistic, but for real. These guys need to work and improve.
