If we did not have thugs on the team we might be more hyped about comming out to cheer. Would rather support the girls team at least they have character!

I'm just glad my kid doesn't play at Brighton. You guys are unbelievable with your comments about who should be playing and who should be sitting and who's team this is. Last I checked it said "Bengals" on the floor and the uniforms. Seems to me there are a bunch of parents coaching from the stands. The team would be better off if they played with no fans in the stands. This Brighton team is loaded with talent for sure but the sad thing is a guy like Wertz would be a starter at any other school and at Brighton he gets limited minutes.

The miller boys can't get Brighton past the first round in state. It will take Sam and the rest of the team. Go Bengals

I think there are a lot of shooters that would should better then 4 of 17 from the field. the fact is that when corbin was jacking up shots the Bengals struggled but once Corbin sat on the bench the Bengals pulled away

Looking at the posts above, you would think that Brighton was 1-3 instead of 4-0. The luxery that Brighton has, is the fact that their bench is so solid. Instead of complaining about it..enjoy it. As far as role players getting more minutes, that's something that the head coach can figure out over time. There's only been 4 games, and Brighton is undefeated. There's a saying that "if it ain't broke..don't fix it" Remember that Brighton also has two players that are due to come off suspension soon that are going to be getting a lot of minutes. Newell will probably move into the starting point guard spot. So the minutes for some of these role players are going to get even smaller. Last year when Corbin went down with an injury, it did seem that Brighton played better as a team. Corbin is getting looked at by a lot of scouts this year, and quite frankly is probably going to jack up even more shots than usual. That's when Johnson can get him out and calm him down. But try and name a better shooter.

The Brighton team needs Corbin and Brandon Miller on the court as much as possible. And Sam too. Xan is hit and miss. The Millers are going to be the ones carrying this team. Its as simple as that.

Corbin Miller is overrated big time. he wsa 4 for 17 against West Jordan. The kid is a gunner. Brighton was a lot better with Corbin on the bench

Brighton had a tiny student section on tuesday night, they are going to need A LOT more than that when they go into bingham.

Your comments highlight the problem at Brighton and other schools. Some players decide that they are bigger then the team...bigger then the game...and the coaches allow it. I wish that the shooting percentages were listed rather then just the points scored. They would give everyone a better idea of what is going on.

nobody said fair means equal. Ya Wertz did go of last night and if given the chance he would go of alot of nights and so would alot of other kids if given the chance. stats don't lie if you look at shooting % rebounds assits to turnovers his stats would be better than anyones on the team other than Sam's. Brighton is not corbins and sam's team it is everyone's that is on the team. Don't try to just elevate your own kid. It is a team sport everyone is not out there for just to kids.

Last night when I got home from the Brighton vs West Jordan game, and I started wondering where the Brighton Student Body was? You could definitly hear the West Jordan students. Brighton you have the 2nd rank team in the state, you need to get out and support your team. They are going to need the support this Friday at Bingham. Get out there and be loud. I've seen you do it before. Your showing last night was pathetic.

Corbin and Sam are the leaders of this team. Austin and Xan also fit in nicely. These "role" players just need to keep doing what they have been and Brighton will be fine. Wertz went off last night, but the game before that he couldn't do anything right it seemed. Felix is solid off the bench instead of starting. Chaus gives you 100% all the time, and does his role just fine. Woodland was a spark last night, just needs to have the confidence to shoot more. This is still Corbin and Sam's team.

Fair does not always mean equal. Trust the coaches and know that not everyone is a "STAR" player. The other kids have roles and play to there strengths that night. That's why it's called a "TEAM" game. But if you think that the other kids are Corbin and Sam, you really don't know basketball. Nice win Bengals.

This just shows you what can happen if other players are given an opportunity to play. You can't be one of the "stars" unless you are on the court!

I am not sure what game this reporter was watching. WJ did not play a "triangle and 2" defense but played straight up man to man almost the entire game. You do have to give the Brighton role players a hand though, for stepping up when their stars were not playing well. Although WJ did play fantastic defense in limiting their leading scorers to well below their averages, it was their inefficiency on offense that kept them from taking advantage. With 2 sophs and a junior starting, they are sometimes prone to bad shots and turnovers which lead to easy scores on the other end. WJ has one of the youngest teams in the state right now and they have battled two of the top 5 teams in the state and had chances to win in both games against both Davis and Brighton. Keep your heads up Jags!
