Texas has better football than Utah. What a shock but I would take Florida and California over Texas football any day of the week.

Utah has much better wresting and cross-country than Texas but again so what I suppose.

Texas also has 20 times the population of Utah so they should have more athletes playing division I in all sports, maybe about 20 times or so.

Utah does just fine in all athletics and in some sports like wrestling, x-country and volleyball, Utah exceeds many states like Texas, and not just by proportional population, just better period.

Texas football in all classes eats up Utah football in all classes. My son in law coaches in a small 1A program. The high school has less than 200 students. They made it to the semifinals yesterday and lost to a team that has 2 players going to major universities. Texas and Texas A & M. I am sure here in Utah you aren't going to find talent that deep in our 1A programs. They just have a larger pool of talent to draw from. Texas football,no matter what class,is the biggest deal in that community. It's no surprise Nike is after Texas High School programs.

It has happened here in Utah too. I work for a Utah County School and we have the exact same contract with Nike.

"the contract doesn't require schools to use Nike products, but does offer discounts on uniforms, apparel and footwear."

This is in the exact same contract we have with Nike.

Also if you LOVE TX so much just go back.

Ignorance is bliss. Texas has more kids. I went to high school in Texas. There were more high schools in our city than the State of Utah. More kids means more high schools and deeper teams. And without sounding racist, Texas has a greater variety of ethnic groups. Those who intrinsically posses speed. Utah is a very white state. As such, teams are slower. This was evident when Bingham got worked in Dallas. Utah has some solid programs. Texas just has a bunch more. I will not even start on Basketball. I doubt the best team would crack the top 20 in Texas.

Texas has more high schools than any other state in the union...great deal for Nike and Texas.

I'm sorry but you must have never seen sports outside of Utah. Texas 1500 high schools and is by far has more depth then any other state. There is a reason Texas sends 350 plus kids to play D1 football. Utah sends 12-20.
    500 5A school. Utah 31 5A.

Has far as baseball is concerned there are good baseball players here in Utah but not a lot of great teams. NO team here would even dream of cracking the top 25 in Texas. I know that for a fact. Bingham could compete and play well in some parts of the state but would have a hard time making playoffs because they only take 3 teams out of a league each year. It used to be 2. Trinty is still in the playoffs but there is a BIG 5A and little 5A playoff. Trinity looks like it will get beat this week or next in the semis.

Schools in Texas have staduims that have 1 million dollar score boards. Utah they maybe 5k-10.
They have 10,000 fans weekly and all fans pay $5-10 to get in. Here students get in with there student pass.

Texas is not the greatest and far from it, I am positive that the best teams in football, baseball and basketball could beat the best in Texas, track is all yours. Texas is just struggling from residents moving to Utah so now they need money to help fund athletics for your local schools. The Parents in Utah believe in raising and supporting their youth unlike Texas they are too busy to put a fundraiser together or it could be laziness!

Texas is the greatest state for high school sports.
I would like to see some of the Utah State Champions in Football, Baseball , and Track even win a District championship if you put them in Texas. NIke Would never come calling like that to UTAH, The parents would have to pay for everything still if they did.
