The U did amazing this year. Their floor routines were so entertaining to watch! I am proud to be a fan of the Red Rocks! 3rd isn't bad.

I would buy one for both gymnastics and football.

And, we should start selling 2009 NCAA Football Championship T-shirts right now. We already have it won.

    We're unstoppable!

    GO UTES!!!!!!!!

I guess they began wearing those National Championship t-shirts a little early this year. Maybe all those t-shirts will be on sale now.

    Have to say this:

TrueRed: 3rd or 2nd in the nation for five straight years are terrible finishes? You must lead a very delusional existence.

Expres: Utah is not up to SEC standards? Let's see: faced five SEC teams in the Super Six, beat three. Nice to know you can negate your own reasoning.

    Let's face it...Utah is sub-par.

This is a truly amazing site. Whiners whining at other whiners. Get real. Everyone want the big hat, but being 3rd in the Nation is a place most other gym teams. Utah is no longer dominant in women's gym. Get over it. I won't even address the cheap shot at Alabama via the Sugar bowl score. If the two teams played 10 times at full strength, Alabama would win at least 8 - see, I'm not blind. Your team is very good, but not up to SEC standards and likely won't ever be.

"utes get DAWGED." Anyone familiar with Georgia sports knows that's the right way to spell the word. Way to go Red Rocks. Utah is always a force in gymnastics.

I think you meant any team WEST of the Mississippi is irrelevant...which is still a false statement.

It just kills me to see Marsden have such terrible finishes year after year. I hear he has been recruited to move to the Lower County to help do something with the YBU gymnastics.

"Farce" as usual!!! Amazing how they have been waiting for the end of the gymnastic finals to continue to try to "heal their hurt"!

I guess washing all those tear stained QUEST T-shirts just did not keep them well enough occupied?!

    April 18, 2009 5:58 p.m.

You just can't get over the beat down this year in football..Now your on a gymnastics thread trying anything you can to discount anything Utah does. If BYU hadn't given up right before my eyes against a weak Arizona team I might think we had a challenge next year but remember football is far down the list of priorities for you Cougars. Wow how would you like to be a BYU football recurit knowing that football doesn't mean anything to the program.

  • SEC
    April 18, 2009 5:45 p.m.

The SEC is dominant in most sports. Get used to it. Any college east of the Mississippi is always irrelevant.

I'm @ the devaney center watching the warmup. Nwever been to one of them in my life. Got the utah girls to sign my nebraska hat because I can't buy a utah hat in nebraska. The girls were very gracious. Go utah.

  • Utah fans...
    April 18, 2009 3:10 p.m.

One or two BYU fans have learned that they can really get the Ute fans amped up by incessantly talking about their ancient and undeserved national championship in 1984, Utah's smaller football stadium, lies about attendance, and generally weaving a dark shadow around every noteworthy that Utah accomplishes.

We, Utah fans, allow them to do it and make them very successful because we can't help but defend who we are. I guarantee, the BYU fans doing this are laughing at every post we put up a post to rebut their stupid remarks.

I suggest we, ALL Utah fans, ignore their comments. They will go away...like the stray kittens they are, they will eventually go away. The one or two individuals who make these inane posts virtually disappeared after the Utes throttled BYU in November. Unfortunately, they returned and are very successful at eliciting a response from Utah fans every time they get on these boards. Let's try something different and ignore them. The results just might surprise us.

That said, thanks Red Rocks for a great showing on the national stage and throughout the season. You have done the University of Utah PROUD!!!!

Wow, did you come up with that last line yourself or did your mommy help you type it? Shouldn't you be taking your afternoon nap right now?

The BYU posters are no more annoying or myopic than Ute fans are. It's a long way until November...you all might want to save your breath.

First of all, thanks to the Ute gymnastics team once again for giving it their best. It's hard to compete against Georgia and their judges! Hopefully that will change one day, I doubt it, but there is always hope. The ute team was awesome and we will miss Nina and Kristina. Kristina has been one of the happiest athletes Utah has ever had. Thank you!

To all you Y fans who like to bash the utes, try to remember UTES RULE, COUGARS DROOL!

Wow--get all the teams right. Utah won the Desert Duel this year. This is a U. year...and there are a handful of men's vb teams compared to women's vb where Utah took it to the Y. Not saying the men's team isn't good, but come on the U. clinched the Desert Duel without having spring sports even go yet.

Maybe now that Courtney and Suzanne are gone we can win again.

Question for you, my proud BYU troll. Why would you possibly be on this blog, as the story has absolutely nothing to do with anything BYU ?? Thanks once again for living up to your reputation as the nation's most myopic fans. You never fail to disappoint.
    Utah 48 Yner's 24, was it??
Utah Sugar Bowl Champs; Yner's losers to AZ.
Utah MWC BBall champs; Yners bounced.
Red Rock's 3rd nationally; Yner's not even on the radar.
So BYU alum, enjoy your Quest for Mediocrity. You're well on your way.
    RED ROCKS !!!

Yeah, right...as if the Utes are better than the cougs all accorss the board. Need I remind you? 2009 football, BYU finished ranked in the top 25 (and beat the U 2 of the last 3 years). Basketball, ended the season in the top 25 (and beat the U 5 of the last 6 tries). Volleyball, currently #6. Rugby, #1 as of a few weeks ago (I haven't heard anything since). Lacrosse, consistently top 10 (haven't heard anything this year). XC and all track events, consistently national powerhouse. And the cougs just beat the U on the diamond this weekend too.

Congrats on the U ladies for the good season, but don't let your ego get out of control, Utes.

One more thing...writing national champs on t-shirts and painting leotards gold? And the Utes say the cougs are arrogant?

    Pot, meet kettle...

Nice to know that pathetic trolls with nothing positive to say plague more than football blogs.

To the Lady Utes: After the gut-wrenching finish on Thursday, you provided more than enough thrills on Friday. Thank you so much for another fine season, and a another reason to be grateful that I bought tickets to the AIAW Championships in 1981. It continues to be a most gratifying fan relationship!

To anonymous, classic and wow: nice to know that trolls don't only appear only football blogs. Since when did you (personally, not your teams) finish third in the nation in anything?

To the Lady Utes: Thank you so much for providing heat and enthusiasm during the cold and dreariness of winter!

The judging was so obviously bias towards UGA. Their wobbles on beam scored the same as our solid routines. No one but UGA stood a chance. Other routines deserved much higher scores than they got. Courtney Kupets who is fabulous and deserved her scores was not the only gymnast who deserved a 10. Just be fair and consistent with the judging!!
