Nice observation, wish I would've noticed it. If you've been coaching for 21 years you might have a feeling or two for things.

    Hi Dapper2k,

thanks for your kind words, basically I love watching the Jazz (even away games) most home game start 2am in the Uk so NBA Broadband has been a blessing. It all started watching Stockton & Malone for me. I know a few Fakers fans here & they are just glory hunters -(.

Hopefully in the future a trip to Salt Lake City awaits.....

Big game tonight, one things for sure it won't finish 71-72

Miles, I agree you know what I think of SLoan. Further, if Popovich coached we would not have lost that game in Miami. I am just saying the spurs are not that great. They have players that make big shots, you are right "the same talent". IT works out at times but it is high risk when you focus on packing the middle and vulnerable to kick outs. what amazes me are certain coaches that do not adjust. Philadelphia Monday night allowed Steve Blake and Rudy Fernandez to make one "3" after another, last night Nelson allowed Bonner to hit one open shot after another, what ever happened to tough man to man defense? Sloan this year has done a good job i realize all the injuries, and yes I want better defense, much better to win a title

Todd how many rings does POP have? How many does Jerry have with the same talent? They have a reputation for playing defense to win championships, we don't...........

Did anybody else notice that during the 3rd quarter, Houston threw the ball away right at Jerry Sloan. I DVR'd it, and even before the ball was out of the player's hands; Jerry calmly stood up and walked away from where it (and the subsequent chasing Rocket player flying out-of-bounds were going to land. How did he know that the ball and player would have ended up in his lap? Phill Johnson who was sitting next to Sloan and only inches away from catastrophe himself, didn't even flinch. He just sat there with his elbow on his knee without a care in the world.

Miles, they are not as great as theyre reputation. Last night Popovich ripped into Parker and Duncan at halftime somewhat because of lack 1st half intensity, i would rephrase that he sat down on the bench and let us say had a pointed discussion. If his coaching was such an impact it did not show that much, offensive intensity picked up, but trust me, Ellis, Magette and Jackson got off any kind of shot they wanted, there were a lot of mid range and long range looks. Inside, good penetrator like DwiL CAN BEAT parker if it was not for "the buffoon Nelson" the Warriors probably win that game

Jerry may preach defense but not the right kind. Jerry needs to go back to school and take defense 101. His theories don't work. Jerry maybe you could watch a few Spurs games and call POP on the phone. In San Antonio they play defense the right way.

Anyone who blames Boozer should look at Okur. He literally ran out of the way of a defender two times last night...How is 'that' kind of defense Sloanlike or capable of winning a championship?

there are a lot of things out there that need to be addressed lately because a lot of great posts.last post about truthful boozer, you addressed the same things i did just now on another article last night. that was Kirilenko, who cares the stats..look at the hustle, deflections etc etc, he was huge last night. The announcers set on TNT Boozer was more productive than Millsap. That is debatable? I want both playing at best and actually like them together. We need all of these guys to play well. My frustration with Boozer offense is he does not seem that aggressive in post up moves, he seems at times to fall in love with the fadeaway, it is not like Karl MALONE hitting that shot with regularity. A LOT HAS BEEN MADE RECENTLY WITH JERRY SLOAN AND DEVELOPING OUR DRAFT PICKS. jerry is not much different here than most coaches, some work and some do not. Sometimes it takes 3-4 years for player to mature. Look at Mitch Kupchak of the "FAKERS", for years in LA he has been accused of not drafting well. They all do not work out even the "FAKE SHOW".

  • Truthful Boozer

"Power forward Carlos Boozer, for one, refutes the notion that TNT and ESPN bring out more in the Jazz than games that merely are televised locally."

At least this time he was honest.

Boozer does not play any defense whether the game is on TV or not!!! Booz is just about getting his offensive stats and lately even that has been too much for him to handle.

It makes my stomach turn to see his weak at-the-rim efforts lately. Routinely getting blocked laying the ball up when he should be dunking at point blank range.

Watching a soft Boozers lame efforts on defense is magnified now that I have to watch it on offense now too. He is taking his merry time coming back from this injury. He is on the floor but not much else.

AK has also gotten the shaft in a big way since Booz has been back. Minutes for him are in the tank. When AK does get enough minutes to get going we see what he can do like he did last night--deflections, defense (Boozer just a witness), great passing etc. We lose all that when AK is not on the floor.
