Just because someone has done something criminal in the past does not mean they will in the future. Alot of people change as they get older do not act as before. I have seen decent people living in shabby places because the landlords didn't up keep the property themselves.

Provo needs to keep its nose out of its citizen's business. I can't wait to see someone sue these cities--and the landlords who go along with them--for unreasonable invasion of privacy.

Provo needs to push ahead with this ordinance. I do not want to see Provo become one big slum. Yes, some landlords are responsible and do not need such an ordinance. Others could care less about their property and the neighborhood. So long as the check clears they don't care what goes on in the neighborhood. Landlords concern for the neighbors? Their attitude is often "Who cares? It's my private property right." Well, the neighbors should have rights also. They should be able to raise their families without having a problem home across the street. They should be able to pay their mortgage and not have their property value decreased by slumlike conditions springing up around them.
