Hats off to player Justin Orton, he is quite the trooper. I am going to enjoy watching him play through high school and make his way to play college ball like his father and both of his uncles. This Orton family is quite the deal! His older brother, Evan put on quite a show while in highschool, he was one mean dude! His sister, Shelley, threw the shot put while in high school, placing in the state meet every year. That's one tough family! There is the amazing coach Bucky Orton, who has brought more to the Kanab team than ever. Good luck to you Justin, may you continue to amaze us all!

  • UHSAA's numbers
    Sept. 10, 2008 11:56 a.m.

    Kanab 252 enrolled students
    Manti 584 enrolled students
    San Juan 380 enrolled students
lets see... quite a difference and so much fuss. kanab is good face it.

now for some numbers in a different region
    Bear River 976 enrolled students
    Logan 1589 enrolled students
    Ogden 1462 enrolled students
    oh yeah and...
Morgan 692 enrolled students. that isnt very fair. now is it all schools in the same region.

You say Manti doesn't have tradition and you ask where their championships are. According to UHSAA Manti has two football championships at 2a level to Kanab's one. Kanab had to move back down to 1a to continue their winning tradition. At least Manti had to guts to stay in 2A.

crybaby kanab is the one who moved down to 1a. kanab is not a 1a team the 1a status is 150 and below your at 191 if manti moved down they could rack up championships, I think your scared to play in 2a.

kanab should be the favorite. a 2a school playing in 1a they should be playing manti and san juan all the time in the 2a south.
