The idea of Jon Favreau directing "The Ultimate Avengers" might be promising - but not as promising as if Marvel scrapped the project.

"Iron Man" was a great summer movie that was only slightly marred by a gimicky stinger taht still managed to be kind of fun. "The Incredible Hulk" was not even a movie - it was a haphazard, thrown together peice of dreck that was badly acted, full of awful effecvts and then turned out to be nothing more than a 2 hour commercial for "Avengers.". It was Marvel's biggest dissapointment yet, and after "X-Men 3" and "Spider-Man 3," that is saying a lot.

If there is one thing Marvel is proving increasingly, it is that they have no respect for the intelligence of audiences. Thank goodness FAvreau and Downey do - pushing back "Iron Man 2" to do it right is the best possible news.
