A guy parks his Jeep parked on UTA tracks, and some people criticize UTA for
running a train on their tracks. Who care what time it was or how many people
were on the train. What most people really want to know is...Was
this guy drunk, on drugs, just plain stupid, or all of the above? It's amazing he had the sense to get out of the Jeep before it was hit by the
train.Or, maybe, he was simply lucky.
When I saw the headline for the article I just knew there would be some idiot
behind it. Those trains have taken about every precaution you can take. If
someone gets hit, it's almost always going to be their own darn fault. I just couldn't believe that, after getting lost and driving into a
construction zone, that when he finally stopped he stopped on the tracks. What
are the odds???
I propose UTA create a 'Wall of Shame' at the Intermodal Hub, commemorating all
the morons' names, faces, and details of their impetuous run-ins with the
ever-so-tricky fixed track system. On top of that, the driver should be fined
per minute per passenger (including those stuck at the next station) for the
lost time and frustration.
What, we don't even get the guy's name? Stupidity of this sort needs
What kind of idiot drives through construction barriers in the first place.
Much less doesn't get his Jeep off the tracks. If he has any brains in his head
this wouldn't have happened.
The train was not in service at that time. So the two people on board were
probably UTA employees. It is amazing how much people will ignore basic facts to
diss on UTA.
Personally I'd rather have have TWO people on the train than an apparent drunk
in a jeep on the road.Don't diss the transit. It's new and this
happened "Just before midnight". How many commuters are on trains at that time
of night. Was this run a "waste" to those two people who were using it instead
of their gas guzzling suvs or perhaps they didn't have the blessing of a car. I
can't wait for the trains to run from Provo to SLC - I HATE the drive -
especially at night!
it Seems That hmmmmm Has Never Rode On The Front Runner Around 5:00 Standing
Room Only So Maybe hmmmm Should Keep His/Her Opinion To His/her Self
Man, it was midnight, I would hope the train wouldnt be full.
A FrontRunner Train with TWO passengers... wouldn't that be a stupid waste of
money, fossil fuels, time, environment etc.Public transportation is
great IF it is really saving our environment.
