We love coaches who make it to the play-offs but never win it all. Too bad
Saunders didn't coach in Utah. He'd still be here. He'd still be here for 20
plus years. Oops! Guess I'm not a "true fan"
Injuries
June 3, 2008 1:11 p.m.
The reason that Detroit struggled with Boston was simple...a key injury to their
best player and that their point guard (Billups) did not perform to the level he
needed.
Boston avoided injuries. Otherwise, I do believe Detroit
would have evened the series and won it in Boston because Ray Allen was
inconsistent. He found his groove during Game 5 and Game 6.

To Hello:
Saunders is a better coach than what will replace him.
Avery Johnson? Terry Porter? No way. Do you really think someone else would
have that Piston team in the finals?
The bottom line is that the
Celtics were better this year and the Cavs were better last year (and whoever
won it the year before...the same.)
If you're firing the coach who
helps them get to the Eastern Conference finals, then fire all the Eastern
Conference coaches who didn't make it to the playoffs.

To High Expectations
You really haven't followed the Pistons much
have you? Larry Brow was the coach and he won an NBA Finals(beating a team from
LA that should have walked over everyone with 4 hall of famers starting) and
then he loses the next year in the finals and gets fired and then Flip comes in
and inherits a team build to win it all and he can't make it to the finals. How
do you lose 4 games in a row to Lebron. Flip does not know defense. He didn't
make any adjustments to stop lebron from scoring 33 of the teams last 36
points(i think that was it)and he was the 1 of 3 guys to score in the 4th
quarter and overtime for the cavs. FLip never should have been hired in the
first place. I am glad he is gone because he is a choke artist. If he didn't
have great players then he wouldn't have even gotten out of the first round
ofthe playoffs. Terrible coach and great move by Dumars to get him out.

Getting a team to the eaastern conference finals three years in a row is a huge
success. Why would anyone want this job when most of us, in basketball land, are
grateful for making the playoffs and going as far as the pistons have gone. The
jazz are a great team and yet sloan has made the finals only two years! Dumars -
get some reality in your expectations!!
