Thwarted on US oil pipeline, Canada looks to China

    China and other third-world countries will be using large amounts of petroleum-derived fuels as they modernize and Canada, being a large source of crude oil will be large supplier. Environmentalists must deal with that reality.

    How does America fit into that picture? America has the world's most energy efficient and environmentally protective refineries. Any Canadian crude oil refined here because of the Keystone XL pipeline will likely have a lower CO2 and pollutant footprint than if that crude oil is refined elsewhere. America wins because of the jobs and the environment wins because there will be fewer problems than if the oil is refined in China.
