Lonestar, there's a little thing called Title IX that restricts Utah, along with 95% of the rest of the nation, from competing in it. Go find a Trinity alum to argue squash vs men's volleyball prowess with. That would be interesting!

"It's okay BYU. You still have men's volleyball."

Which, fortunately for U, you don't even attempt to compete in.

    Congrats Red Rocks!

It's great to see that the Utes still have at least one program that generates enough excitement to fill up the Huntsman Center.

Gymnastics does have a preseason, Utah was ranked number 5 in the preseason poll. The first regular season poll was released last week, in which Utah was number 2, but dropped to 3 during the bye week. While there is not much difference between the preseason and regular season because every performance is factored into the ranking, the statement that Utah had not posted a regular season 197 since 2009 is still technically true.

There is no preseason in Gymnastics. Utah opened the season at UCLA and then came home the next week to face Utah State.

Nice job. This is a very good Utah squad.

Remember, U women's gymnastics are "Red Rocks."

FYI, I believe the Utah State match was a preseason contest, not regular season, so that statement is correct.

Good luck to Megan Bain, hopefully the tear was not a rupture of the tendon and she can have a full and speedy recovery.

Congratulations BYU on recording your highest scoring meet of the season (194.45) after losing your highest scoring gymnast.

"The rivalry brings out the best in the Utes who hadn't scored a 197.0 in the regular season since their 2009 outing against the Cougars."

Just a correction to the story, Utah scored 197.400 just two weeks ago against Utah State.

Congratulations to both teams for achieving personal bests.
