@Iron Rod, sure we could do worse. We could elect Wimmer, Sandstrom, or Liljenquist.

If the majority of the people are dissatisfied with Congress and the Senate, Why do they continue to reelect their Federal representatives?

Our newspapers are continually telling us that we are on the cutting edge of everything. Why don't we have politician reform and kick our Hatch, Bishop and Matheson?

    Could we do any worse?

The only reason the house has passed one in that span and the senate hasn't is because the house doesn't have a filibuster that requires 60% of people to vote for cloture.

    Absolutely ridiculous and inexcusable.

As if we really needed more evidence, this is just another sign that the American method of government has completely failed. The whole system needs to be taken back to the drawing board.

If I don't do my job, I don't get paid. I imagine that holds true for everyone except for members of congress. If the house and senate can't get their collective act together, they shouldn't get paid. If they didn't get paid, a bi-partisan budget would get passed quickly. Don't pay the Bums and throw them all out.

'If you want to prove me wrong, show us that you are not a hypocrite.' - RedShirt | 1:18 p.m. Jan. 24, 2012

'Prove to me that you are not a hypocrite?'

Isn't that 1) a litte interprative and 2) still being insulting?

I have not called YOU, or any conservative a hypocirte.

I will call out a Double Standard, but I don't resort to insults.

Also, why should I present anything else, when I factually PRESENTED x3 examples of that Double Standard, you are now ignoring?

    Even 3grandslams | 1:24 p.m., ignored the 139 filibusters.

Kinda hard to claim Democrats have control...when Republicans BLOCK everything.

I also do not call your post's 'rants' or being 'not coherant'.

It's like you get a FREE PASS to be uncivil, regardless of what the moderators claim to want civility.

Are you going to ask for my birth certificate next?

I've already proved your claim false.

I have no need to engage you further, since you bring nothing to the conversation but accusations, and insults.

So the senate can't pass a budget (Democrat controlled) but they Dems are furiuous (Gingrich is a liberal too) with Romney because he pays his taxes. Brilliant.

To "Pagan | 12:52 p.m." so what does your disjointed rant have to do with the hypocrisy of the liberals, unless you are just pointing out that you really are hypocrites.

If you want to prove me wrong, show us that you are not a hypocrite. Don't use Republican Progressives as an example because they are liberals too.

Or are you saying that liberals wear the title of hypocrite as a badge of honor?

I can't tell with you because your rants typically have no coherancy.

Do conservatives realize that calling someone a 'hypocirte'...

    is an insult?

Or have they done it so much...

they fail to realize what a civil conversation is?

Here is the ironic thing about the article. For years we hear the liberals complain about the wars being "off the budget". Now, we see that it has been 3 years since the senate passed a budget, and all the liberals can do is complain about the Republicans?

Don't you liberals ever realize that it is because of attitudes like this that you have a reputation of being hypocrites?

Keep all legislation, off the Senate floor...

    Does this SURPRISE anyone?

With the GOP actively preventing this country from moving FOWARD...

Isn't is ironic that many voters went with Mr Newt because "he knows how Congress/Washington work." Is it not past time we elect a President who knows how Congress/Washington should work!

I notice the author of this story only interviewed one source herself (freshman Utah senator Mike Lee) and only included one brief, indirect, eight-month-old quote from a Democrat. I know journalism as an industry has suffered some serious setbacks in the past few years, but has the bar really been lowered so much that a cobbled-together, lopsided piece like this is considered acceptable?
