Personally, I like Barak Obama. I voted for him in the last election, and I think he's made some reasonable efforts in a difficult situation.

Having said that, I appreciated the LA Times article about Mitt Romney (I did not read the DN summary). It was well researched, and seemed very unbiased. It wasn't sure whether it was a good or a bad thing that Romney was so devoted to the Church, but it pointed out that he has donated more time to his religion than any other candidate ever. It makes it clear that Romney's religious beliefs will have an effect on his style--if not substance--as president. I don't know whether or not I would vote for Romney, but I feel as if I know where he is coming from, and I like that.

I think Romney is a great man. I haven't met him in person. He hasn't done anything for me, but knowing how much time, devotion, and work it takes to be a Bishop, I can tell he is responsible. You have to find efficient people to work with you. He has that ability. He has been with the same wife for many years. I see his life and I see a good man, a man of character. A man with values. Some people may say he flip-flops. I called that being flexible. Things cannot be black and white all the time. Sometimes you have to consider other factors and people involved. I have been following his political career since the last elections. I couldn't vote since I was just a legal resident. But I'm a U.S citizen now and I hope he gets the nomination. He has my vote already.

As an outsider (non-American) it is baffling to see the surge in Mr Gingrich's republican support. Do the voters not realize that his nomination would seal President Obama's re election? A man who captured the dreams and hopes of not only your nation but indeeed of the entire world (including myself) only to deliver NOTHING in almost every aspect. However in a general election President Obama would be a moral giant in comaparison to Newt Gingrich, a man with such appalling lack of character that was investigated and fined by his own government for unethical behaviour, who as a matter of public record is kown to have cheated on his first two wives, who attacked a sitting president for inmoral behaviour while he himself was having an affair! Who was raised a Lutheran , converted to born again Christian and then became a Catholic jumping from creed to creed with his wife d'jour. Please America have more respect for your great Nation! A more sensible choice is by far Gorvernor Mitt Romney (although his No Apologies rhetoric is offensive to non americans) His values, his record his loyalty to family, faith and nation make him the only credible candidate

"While leading the Belmont ward," the story related, "⦠he was so dedicated to his church responsibilities that he wouldn't travel anywhere that kept him from getting back to Boston for the night, (BYU-Idaho president Kim) Clark said."

Counselors have been known to handle things just as well. Is anyone that indispensable?

I've said a lot of things which you choose not to hear, understand, or answer.

I didn't vote or support George Bush, so his vacations to Camp David and Texas ranch doesn't excuse BO in my mind.

Where did BO get his money for an Ivy league school and why give up his law license?

Gingrich takes 31 percent of the self-described 'born-again Christian' vote, which is pretty much in line with his overall vote total.

The "born agains" like to have someone who has changed from wickedness to accept Jesus. They don't know what to do with someone like Mitt Romney.

'Disgusting we have to pay for his lavish vacations.' - worf | 4:24 p.m. Dec. 9, 2011

This was great to read and the New York Times article also. It really helped me to understand Romney more and actually helped me to respect who he is more. I honestly trust his ability to mend the economy, but wish he would not say he believes in Global Warming being affected by man. I believe we contribute to pollution, but as for the other, Nature is much bigger and powerful then we humans are.

    * based on four words. Need context.

Why did BO & MO surrender their law licenses?

    Who shaped their character?

I dont think so. Worf;; your fellow texan George Bush went on more vacations when he was in office than any one in history. No wonder the country went to heck on his watch DUH!!

    * let tens of thousands postal workers go bankrupt to save three billion dollars---BO (2011) - worf | 4:06 p.m. Dec. 9, 2011

do we CARE about American jobs now?

*'Let Detroit Go Bankrupt' - By Mitt Romney - NY Times - 11/18/08

    Estimated result?

*'How Many Jobs Depend on the Big Three?' - By CATHERINE RAMPELL - NY Times - 11/17/08

'In both cases, there would be major short-term shocks to employment; depending on which scenario you use, a contraction of the Detroit Three would result in direct and indirect job losses of 2.5 million to 3 million in 2009.'

I realize I gave this example before, but apparently it bears repeating...

under Mitt Romney's leadership we would have lost 3 MILLION American jobs!

    What shaped Obama's character?

"MICHAEL MOORE, ON CNN: Well, "The Washington post" three weeks ago had this investigation and they said that President Obama has now raised more money from Wall Street and the banks for this election cycle than all -- than all eight Republicans combined. I don't want to say that, because if that's the truth, that Wall Street already has their man and his name is Barack Obama, then we've got a much bigger problem."

Disgusting we have to pay for his lavish vacations. Oh those wealthy who don't pay their fair share!

Mitt a vast improvement over change and hope--BO will (did):

    * let tens of thousands postal workers go bankrupt to save three billion dollars---BO (2011)

    * veto Canadian Oil Line, preventing tens of thousands American jobs--BO (2011)

    * give billions of dollars to other countries that could have gone to postal dept-- BO (2011)

    * tell Americans to sacrifice than charge them for lavish vacations--BO (2011)

    * proclaims America as not Christian

    * proclaims America has fifty eight states

    * surrendered his law license
    * had General Motors build a new plant in Monterrey Mexico instead here.

    Thank BO! What about George?

I, personally, try to stay AWAY from discussions about Mitt Romney's faith.

It (Hopefully) shouldn't AFFECT me, right?

I choose to focus on his ACTIONS.

*'Stories show how church service shaped Mitt Romney's character' -
Jamshid Ghazi Askar - Deseret News - 12/09/11

I thought we weren't supposed to bring up Mitt Romney's faith...

or be labled as 'discriminating' against Romney BECAUSE of any Mormon bias?

*'President Obama's purported 'weird'-Mormon strategy against Mitt Romney will backfire, pundits say' - By Hal Boyd, Deseret News - 08/10/11

*'Michele Bachmann's pastor on Mormonism' - By Jamshid Ghazi Askar - DSNews - 09/06/11

Michele Bachmann & President Obama have NOT said anything about the Mormon faith.

    But, it was reported, anyway.

Now, articles about how 'chruch services shaped Mitt Romney's character?'

This is almost a double standard Deseret News.

No one can mention Mitt Romney's faith as a 'liability'...

but EVERYONE can mention his faith as why Mitt Romney has 'good character?'
