    So. Cal Reader

I think Cougar Claws was talking about the season.

Re: Cougar Claws "He should be bemoaning a late start. There's no excuse for the start we had." Keep in mind ESPN and the contract has full control over the start time and not the coach, school, etc. You honestly mean that with the beat-down of the WAC teams deserves an earlier kick-off? But, with that being said, these games are still getting a ton more nat'l exposure than that joke of a TV "contract" the MWC had.

He should be bemoaning a late start. There's no excuse for the start we had. We were capable of beating all the teams at the start of the schedule. Going forward, we are going to have to beat the teams at the beginning of the schedule or it will be over before it even starts.

I'm agreeing less and less with the Coach. However, I agree wholeheartedly with him on this one. You can't beat the nat'l exposure and top notch/professional analysts ESPN brings to broadcast college football. Plus these late games allow me to ensure my Cougs freshman son is bundled up warm in the crowd shots!! Go, Cougs!! Brrrrr.

    The Deuce

I will be happily watching the game. If I were in Utah I would be at the stadium bundled up and happily watching the game. I'm happy to be able to SEE them play. But, then again, I'm a BYU fan.

Funny. I thought California was on PST. That means it's an hour earlier for you. Still past your bedtime, huh?

The majority of Cougar fans do live in the West Coast. For the rest, there is always the rebroadcast of the game via BYUtv.

My sympathy goes to the coaches and the players standing on the sidelines. Cold air sinks after all. And its probably not cool to snuggle up close to the other guys. Haha.

What does this mean - "But Cougar coach Bronco Mendenhall said the possibility of inclement weather, coupled with a late start, pale in comparison to the exposure his team can receive with the game being televised on ESPNU." By this time on Saturday night, do you think anyone will be watching this game? This is what independence brings to the program. Last week's game is followed by this, then who knows when the Cougars play again. I am still trying to figure out what "exposure" Coach Mendenhall is taking about. When will the fans and the administration stop this train wreck and get back to the days when BYU athletics meant something special?

Lucky for us the snow only fell on UCLA since it won the game. lol

Chris B and all the other Ute trolls:

    T. J. Simers, a sports writer for the Los Angeles Times, made this comment in his most recent column about the UCLA/Utah game:

"But what a belly flop, a 31-6 spanking coming from a second-rate opponent."

Personally, I think the snow won the games for the Utes.

    RE: Chris....

Your right about BYU not beating any team that is relevant over the last two years. As much as the truth hurts, BYU's football team is fairly irrelevant on the national stage except that they are being televised on ESPN almost every week.

What I want to know is what relevant team the Ute basketball team has beat over the last 2 years? As bad as BYU football has been in big games itleast they have still had above .500 records last year and this year. Your Utes in basketball haven't been above .500 since the Nevill days whenever that was.

See-Chris you like to bash BYU-and that's OK, but it doesn't make much sense to bash BYU in a sport when you look at the Utes in hoop and it's 10 times worse. did you forget the throttling at the hands of Jimmer last year by 30 points? Stay classy-Chris B.

The later start times work for me here in Cali -- but Coach looked tired and his voice sounded a bit raspy today at the Press Conference.

    @ Chris

Grow up already! You sound like a toddler.

I don't mind a 6pm start time. Later start times suck for us out of state season ticket holders. I got home after 3 am with the bad weather. Just glad that I-80 had opened back up when we went through Evanston. I would like to see BYU offer a room to us when games start later than 6pm.

Last year's record vs. decent teams

    Florida State

This year's record vs. decent teams

I wonder how much longer byu fans can convince themselves by beating WAC teams to end the season they've somehow "turned the corner" into relevancy.

    You haven't.

    The big 12 didn't call.

You still can't compete with athletes.
