'What must Romney do to pull away from the pack?' - Title

    Romney has already done that.

He failed to even get the Republican nomination in 2008.

No matter what Romney may say or do, nothing can get me to cast a ballot for anyone who promises to kill the gains we recently made in providing adequate health coverage for average people.

The Republicans claim they have "better ideas." But they held leadership for many, many years and their "better ideas" never came out.

At least we have something now. Perhaps if the Republican establishment had helped develop it instead of fighting to kill it, we'd have a really good something.

But they didn't and we don't. And if Romney keeps his promises, we'll be back to having nothing.

Frank Pignanelli & LaVarr Webb, wants to know what must Romney do to pull away from the pack?.

Step down and drive real fast to get back home?.

    That would be great.

Mitt Romney the ant can't move a rubber tree plant.
    Have HIGH flip/flop HOPES
Just what makes that little old ant - Think he'll move that rubber tree plant - Anyone knows an ant, can't - Move a rubber tree plant

But he's got high hopes, he's got high hopes - He's got high apple pie, in the sky hopes

So any time your gettin' low - 'stead of lettin go - Just remember that ant -- Oops there goes another rubber tree plant

Love the rubber tree plant that just moved by magic in 2012, by Obama, for another 4 more years!.

There is something with Mr. Romney that many cannot exactly put their finger on.........
Possibly the fact that this Presidential candidate has difficulty making a decision and sticking to it, causes us to distrust him?

Romney cannot just shed the suit and wear casual clothes and think that is enough to relate to the middle class - he needs to actually talk to us not at us.

The GOP is afraid of Romney because he is a moderate.

He has shown that time and time again.

So, Nothing that Romney does at this point will make a difference with many.

The T party and the right wing are gaining more and more power within the GOP.

They are afraid he will take a sensible approach to the problems facing this country.

    They dont want sensible.

They want it all. They want extreme actions. They want a purity test. They want their way 100% and have no room for compromise.

    To prove my point,

Every GOP Presidential candidate would be against 10 to 1, spending cuts to tax increases.

That shows how far right that GOP candidates need to be. And how logic is out the window.

And it is to the Great Detriment to this country.

    Patriots? Hardly.

I don't know if romney will win the presidency but I do think the democrats will hold on to the senate. So all of his crazy ideas will go nowhere. Wait, I forgot democrats are totally spineless and will accommodate romney in anyway he wants.

This last week NPR hosted a call in show on Mitt, and I was really surprised at the distain that the Right expressed for Romney. It was reminiscent of Goldwater's famous 1964 convention speech where he said "extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice". Many of the Republican callers felt that Mitt was too moderate and would rather lose with a far right candidate than win with a moderate. After Mitt wins the nomination, and has to swing to the center, it will interesting to see how much of the tepid support from the right translates into general election support.
