    What in the world is the federal government doing in the real estate business? That's taxpayer money they're playing with.

    Yet one more bit of evidence why it is very UNwise to get the government involved in areas that were never part of the original intentions of the founders.

    Don't just dump the houses, get rid of the whole Fannie Mae/Freddi Mac/FHA regime of incompetence and corruption while you're at it!

    Just sale them and the market will take care of the rest. Sure there will be an initial loss, but the poor and young will get good values and pay property taxes over the years to more than make up for the losses by the government. The effort to forestall, the sale off, only prolongs the length of the recession in real estate.
