Ute Fan In Utah and MiP: Thanks for clarifying for the slower witted that always seem to jump at the chance to take offense when just the opposite was intended. It just takes a little longer for the synapses to fire for some.

U 90, I believe byronbca is a Ute fan. He was saying the ranking is impressive since, as a public school, the U entrance criteria is not as strict (nor can it be) as a private school like Stanford.

At one time the PAC prided itself on not playing FCS teams. The SEC doesn't seem to mind however and they only play 8 leagues games instead of 9. The SEC has been rewarded not the PAC-12 when it comes to rankings. This year 9 of the 12 teams in the PAC-12 have one FCS team on the schedule. My guess in the future it will be an annual event for all of them.

You guys do realize that byronbca was complimenting Utah's academics? He said they take pretty much anyone but they still manage to be ranked 79th in the WORLD. They are taking their students and making them better.

Utah ranked 79th in the WORLD!

    Not the nation.

You guys were somewhere down there in the 301-400 range. How embarrassing for you. Oh well. That's the sort of thing that happens when you stamp out academic freedom.

Good luck down there in the WAC this year.

Why all the hate brother? Are you jealous that BYU did not make the list? Or did you score 33 on the SAT and that somehow makes you better than everyone else?

You are the poster child for the type of fan that gives BYU a bad rap. I hope the Y's quest for more exposure does't also make fans like you more visible.

Utah being ranked 79th in the nation is a great accomplishment considering they let just about anybody in. I bet they don't rank in the top 250 for ACT and SAT scores for incoming freshmen. Utah's faculty deserves a lot of credit.
