LaBron was minus 24 in the title game.

Dirk scored 61 points in the fourth quarter in 6 games. More than Wade and James combined.

His name is Kobe - not Colby. Watch B-ball much?

Wade is a champion and he plays like one. He won the NBA title in 06 and Olympic Gold a couple years later. In the Gold Medal game it was Wade that carried the US to victory. Wade , like other greats - is a true star. He doesn't shrink in the moment. James on the other hand DOES shrink in the moment. James played like a JV player the entire finals series and at times looked terrified in being called on to even take a shot. Very weird indeed. James doesn't have the heart of a champ like Wade and Colby and Michael and Magic and Larry. Something is missing with Labron James. James a good player - a great physical specimen - but somehow the metal toughness isn't there...yet. James also has to develop his inside game - with his back to the basket. At times he just looks awkward inside. He only 26 so has some more years to get to his prime but the time is running out on his older teammates.

LeChoke - 18 points in 6 fourth quarters. 'nuff said.

LeBron? Been sayin'! He's not all that.

However, Wade even faded. Didn't expect that from him.

Bosh, great outside shooter, but he couldn't carry the team, either.

Dirk, Barea, and Terry impressed me the most. Clutch players!

So happy to see the Miami "big 3" couldn't rig a championship.

Both of these teams showed that team defense is way more important than one-on-one defense. Great series.

Now LeBron is tweeting that "God says it's not his time"??? This guy just doesn't get it at all... or maybe he does get it, and God just likes Kobe and MJ a heck of a lot more than James!

To me the Mavs were the champs when they SWEPT the Lakers. The rest has just been icing on that wonderful cake. I really don't expect they will win another one next season (if there is one), but this one was spectacular!! Now I get to go through NBA basketball withdrawals.

Uncanny how the Mav's coach looks like Jim Carrey plus 10 years or so...

Also, did you notice the MVP trophy looks incredibly similar to the World Cup trophy, and awarded to a German last night!

Looks like it was the MAVERICKS who took their talents to South Beach... I hope LeBron's and Wade's coughs get better soon, though...

there was an article on a blog...its thescore... i think...dated dec 14 2010...on that article...the writer announced the the dallas mavericks are the new NBA champs...why?...there was this stat that im not sure everyone is familiar with....teams that has won 12 or more games and have that streak ended with a lost to the milwaukee bucks ended up being champions...the 1972 lakers the 1974 celtics the 1983 76ers and 2007 spurs...all of them had their streak of more than 12 games broken by milwaukee...same thing the dallas mavericks...i know its just a coincidence...but it is a cool trivia...

Happy for Dirk , J Kidd & Dallas - formula for winning
    Superstar PF
    Defensive C
    above ave SF
3 guards with different strenths & weaknesses

and role players on the bench that do anything for the team

and most importantly - flexiable smart coaching staff

Remember that 'Miami Welcome Party' after D-Wade, Bosh and James signed? It's officially become the funniest thing I've ever seen. You don't celebrate your championships before you win them! It will be interesting to see what this summer brings for Miami. I say trade off Bosh and get some depth!

Glad to see Dirk, Jet, Kidd, Chandler, Marion, Barea etc finally get one.

Dirk went form choker to a closer although he had a bad game in the first half.

I really do not like MIA so I am happy to see DAL win. On paper they should not have. Dirk was the only star. Kidd is older than dirt. Jet is erratic like CJ. Barea is very short. Marion and Chandler are good but not great players. Kidd, Jet and Barea are all 6'3" or less.

DAL is not that great on paper. MIA should have swept them but the game is not played on paper.

I hope the new CBA puts an end to the 3 super star nonsense and spreads the top talent around the league. Cuban finally bought the right combination of depth but I hope the new CBA puts a hard cap in and prevents buying championships also.

Dirk helped the NBA in Europe big time. He has redeemed the Euros for a while.

LeBron has established a new legacy as a 4th quarter ghost.

Nice ending to a great series.

Now if the Jazz can figure out how to rebuild.

Well it is good to see a true team who played team ball win it over the big three. It goes to prove a good team with one superstar with a great coach can win it all, over 3 superstars and some role players.

This series was all about maturity........... Players and coach, and yes even the owner kept his mouth shut...............

Miami didn't know when to shut up.

Even with the free throws horrifically lop-sided in Miami's favor, Dallas prevails! I think the only person maybe feeling dumber than LeBron James right now is Scottie Pippen?

Way to go Dirk... one of the NBA's class acts and a heck of a player!

Well, thanks to your story, I see that Dirk and his pals got the memo from King David.

Anybody know how big the bonus is for stretching it out to game seven?

I think this is the first year in probably the last 20 years that I haven't seen even a single NBA playoff game.

I'm sure I'll sooner be watching 100 pro wrestling matches.

Not that the outcome is any more in doubt, but the laughs are more frequent and a lot funnier.
