    With all due respect, I agree with all but one particular word in your post. I would make the case that We should all learn from Tressel's "choice."

    Mistake seems to infer unintended action, while choice infers deliberate action and his choice to withhold the truth is the reason he was compelled to resign.

    While it is admirable that the players are loyal to their coach, the saddest failure is that their coach failed at a key component of his job. Tressels responsibility was not just to coach X's and O's it was teaching core values that extend beyond the football field. Hard work and tenacity are only a part of the equation. Honesty and integrity have to be more than just catchphrases or buzzwords. Some principles are larger than college football. We should all learn from Tressel's mistake. We are all worthy of second chances and Tressel will have his. Hopefully Tressel and his players will be better off when it arrives.
