Riverton provided some exciting moments during the pre-season with wins over Alta, Fremont and others, along with an early region win against rival Bingham, on the Miners home court. I thought they might be loaded, but then I went and watched them and realized these were the same JV players I'd watched the year before that were average at best.

Props go out to the coaches and players for working hard all year long and providing many exciting moments. You were in the region III race right up until the end and had a decent showing at state against a region II co-champion.

Maybe these Silverwolves didn't come away as champions, but each of these young men are better people for having played in a program that teaches so much more than winning and losing.

Typical Riverton playoff performance (no matter the sport)

That's an incredible game without question. However, I have to wonder how well this team will do when they run into a really good defensive team. Basketball is a team sport, and it's dangerous to place all of your faith in one player. If they're going to compete in the remainder of the tournament, the rest of the team is really going to need to step it up.
