Instead of lack of interest, it could be jealousy. For further proof, look at the number of comments left on any story about the Las Vegas Bowl by cougar fans. I'm not sure what they're so jealous about, the Vegas bowl isn't that great of a prize.

I wouldn't be surprised to see UTEP put up a fight in the first half. But I fully expect BYU to pull away in the second half.

Just seeing how good a team BYU is now, I can't help but think how much better they will be with better and better athletes coming in!

    Exciting times ahead! Go Cougars!

It will be a wonderful way to end a tumultuous season.

It will be great to have some momentum going into next year's inaugural independent season.

It will sure be nice to be rid of The Mtn!

Looking forward to watching my Cougs play one last game this year. It will be fun to see how much more they have improved over the past couple of weeks.

As for lack of interest ... Utahfan and afro14 were interested enough to post comments.... But they always are.

"Hmm... lack of comments = lack of interest?"

Lack of comments simply means BYU fans don't expect UTEP to be a serious challenge, ala New Mexico, UNLV, CSU and Wyoming.

That doesn't mean Bronco won't have BYU ready for the Miners, just that BYU fans have come to expect BYU to beat UTEP in football. Two teams headed in opposite directions the 2nd half of the season.

More BYU fans will be tuned in to watch BYU-UTEP than there will be Utah fans tuned in to watch Utah-BSU.

We will have to count on fans in Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona to travel to the game, however.

Not many BYU fans will be traveling from Utah this year.

We're planning a huge get together with BYU fans in my ward out in the Midwest. We're thrilled BYU is going to a bowl after such a rough start.

Does anybody who doesn't think this game will be worth watching want to drive my son home from BYU-I saturday so I can watch the game?

Hmm... lack of comments = lack of interest? Doesn't surprise me.

It's not much of a game, but it did get me a laugh at church when I announced that the ward Chirstmas breakfast/party would be done by 10:30 Saturday so we would be able to catch all of the "exciting New Mexico Bowl".

    Go Cougs!

Lavell Edwards will always be the consummate gentleman. I remember the 25 of 27 days. It was a very one sided rivalry for Utep. Mike Price was ever the funny guy among the Utah college and Universities. He was missed when he left Weber State. Utep would be a good fit for the diluted MWC now. They had a real rivalry with New Mexico and Colorado State.
