    Mark it down!

Why are you commenting about the BYU game on a Utah article?

    Who mentioned BYU?

Maybe this reader feels that beeing constantly told to "mark it down" is getting old?

The thinking that it has to do with any other University is manifestation that too many Utah fans are fixated on the "TDS" zoobs.

The reality is that I believe this is a Huge Game because:

    TCU has beaten good teams.
Lucky for them the Utes have not beaten any good teams, yet the media has Utah ranked high.

I think this win will put the better team (which I believe to be TCU) in a better position to play deservedly for their second NC, if a team ahead of them loses.

It will be more difficult to place a one-loss team ahead of TCU in that case.

    Impossible, no, just more difficult.

(If Utah was the better team, I would feel the same way about Utah... If Utah wins Sat... I will re-evaluate my position).

Lose the arrogance ClasslessMagnaUteFan. It's not always about BYU. Come Sunday, you live in Magna.

    Enjoy it!

Will you be back after Utah wins? If so don't bring any excuses as to why, just recognize that it is the year of the UTE!!!!

hey sammy....with that said, then you should know as well, most byu fans think that the cougars will finish out the season with all Wins...and move on to some "bowl game"....that sounds pretty delusional given where byu is right now...ain't gonna happen...sorry pal!

Sammy.. does the g stand for green as in... with envy!!!

As for the poll numbers.... I can't say this as a fact, but would venture to guess, that that is probably better percentages than we were given against TCU in 08... I would also guess higher than our odds against 'Bama.... which I interpret as good odds!! Come on haters keep telling Utah what they can't do.... its serving them well!!!!

Classless and any other Ute fan. My comments have been mostly about the weak schedule the Utes have played and then discounting the possibility of a Ute NC. Along with some occasional banter at the expense of rabid Ute fans my comments have never been about a poor team. NEVER!

I recognize the accomplishments but until tomorrow I'm of the opinion that the Utes have not been tested. Many fans both Ute and others agree with that. There is no comparison in the Utes schedule against Oregon and most other ranked BCS teams. Until last week the Utes have not played against a team of equal talent.

So let's be real brother. If the Utes get by TCU they still have some other games to play. Season ain't over. If they manage to run the table and end the season undefeated then the FACT of the matter is this... No shot at the NC if other BCS teams are undefeated. PERIOD!

So there you go. I'm not a Ute hater contrary to belief. Some of the fans are delusional and those are the ones that need a dose of reality. Medicine will be administered tomorrow.

Stupid opinion polls mean a lot to some people. Afterall that is how BYU won in 1984. I choose to wait and settle it on the field.

    Mark it down!

Why are you commenting about the BYU game on a Utah article?

Mark it down, this is THE Biggest MWC game of the year. This is also one of, if not the biggest game, in all of college football this year. Utah and TCU could possibly be the best 2 teams in the country. And you say yawn? That is laughable. Could TCU win? possibly. But then again, so could Utah. The fact that you, and several other Utah haters, won't acknowledge that fact is also laughable.

I agree, 33% chance of Utah playing in the NC game if they win on Saturday. I think that your prediction about TCU is not correct. However, it seems a reasonable prediction. Do you want to make a wager? I bet Utah wins and then you still come back and talk about how poor of a team Utah is.

If TCU beats Utah, there is a chance that it will play for the National Championship, epecially if Auburn and Boise State Loses their games.

If TCU loses to Utah and Boise State wins their game and Auburn loses their game, chances are good that Boise State will play for the National Championship.

If Utah wins over TCU and Boise State wins over Hawaii, and Auburn wins their game, it is my opinion, that Utah will not have a chance at the National title.

If Utah beats TCU, Boise State loses to Hawaii, and Auburn loses it's game and Oregon loses it's game, but atthe finale of MWC games, if BYU beats Utah,
they might get a crack at a decent bowl, not the Las Vegas Bowl, but maybe the Independence Bowl or the Poinsetta Bowl, but I think we could escape the New Mexico Bowl vs a middle of the pac WAC team.
That would be a hughe success.

    Go Cougars.

Oh, I forgot to comment on the poll...

"If Utah beats TCU, will it play in the national championship?

    1/3 yes

    2/3 NO!

Wow Ute fans! There's either a lot of 'haters' out there manipulating this poll or it's the truth smack dab between the eyes!

NO NC for the Utes this year or the next, the
next... get it? Think it will be easier next year without 'cupcakes'? Wrong!

This week the hype ends! TCU by 14. It's going to be a great game.

In the words of my favorite broken record Ute fan...

Hated U, what's the deal with the subtraction equation. Taking a needle away from a balloon doesn't make it pop, bro.

And so shall it be with the Utes. They will keep getting bigger and bigger.

But win or lose, the season isn't over after this game. With three exciting regular season games and an assured bowl game, there's plenty of football to be played.

Here's hoping the Utes are 9-0 after Saturday.

Although the College Gameday will be here in Utah the game will be shown CBS College sports and not any of the espn channels.
I hope like crazy that the Utes are able to win this game but it will be a tough one.

Just hoping that ESPN Game Day does not jinks Utah. It has a tendency to do that to the home team.

"With Saturday's game featured on ESPN's GameDay, it has become an event of high national interest. That hasn't often – if ever – happened when two MWC teams played."

If he's referring to "high national interest" he has a point. However, this will be the third time GameDay has featured MWC teams. They came to Provo last year for the BYU-TCU matchup and also to Utah in 2004.

I hope we can hear from NC Utes 2010 when Utah comes up short in this game. As much as I like Utah, I have a hard time seeing them getting away with a W on this one. TCU's just too good and they will be ready for this game--just like they were last year.

  • SoCalUtahFan Utesville, CA

The road to BCS goes through Fortworth and Salt Lake City. How sweet does that sound? It does not go through Provo--not even for a pit stop.

It's not bad that this year, the winner of Utah-TCU can not count on BYU to help their strength of schedule.

Regardless, the winner of this game--Utah--should be ranked 3rd after this week-end. And will eventually meet Oregon for the BCS NC game in Gledale AZ--ie the road to BCS NC game goes through Eugene and Salt Lake City to Glendale.
