It amazes me when facts are stated that somehow some Ute fans will usually resort to something unrelated as a comment to the statement. Case in point... pigskin.

So pigskin the answer to your question is this... BYU's SOS is stronger than the Utes this year. Don't get all upset, it's just a fact that the Utes schedule has been with teams with losing records, thus the weaker SOS at this time.

So to put it bluntly... the Utes have been playing in the Hostess Twinkie Conference just like BYU and have faired quite well. BYU played more teams that were ranked top 25, didn't win but that isn't the point.

From the Utes less than stellar performance at AFA I am guessing a beat down by 14 points is in order for this weekend.

I salute the Utes with Hostess Twinkie in one hand and a Little Debbie Snackcake in the other and let the best team win.

Best team is the Horned Frogs this year... again.

WOW! This is incredible. Beat teams like San Jose State, New Mexico, UNLV, and some people think this can be truly a best team in the country? Close lucky wins over Pitt & Air Force does'nt show that. Let the Utes show the nation who they are!

Ute fans are hyped for this game.

The Utah offense will have a big challenge --- just what weve been wishing for. A chance to show the nation who we are. This truly could be the best two teams in the nation.

I cant wait to see Shaky on the field. He could be the key if Utah ends up winning.

BTW, if posters from other schools dont like the derogatory comments thrown their way, then simply stop posting on stories about utes. Most (there are a few fake Ute fans) dont give a lick about other teams unless it impacts the Utes somehow.

Feeling a little "holier than thou"?

It cracks me up that the self rigtheous label is so often thrown at byu fans by the utes. But if you read the comments on these boards for five minutes you'll see that you utes so often overlook your classess posters(anything by Hedgehog, Chris B, Big Ben, ....several others) and pretend they have the most respectful fanbase anywhere. Stop the hypocrisy.

I agree the yewtie football team is a very impressive bunch and I do think the yewties will beat tcu, but please stop the self righteousness utes.

This poll is interesting. I have all the 2008 games recorded and many of the 2004 games. When I went back and watched them over the summer it was abundantly clear that the 2004 team was better at the start of the season and the 2008 team was better at the end of the season. Far greater improvement for the 2008 team and I am sure it was because of the far stronger schedule. 2008 team is the best Utes team of my 30 years.

By the way, thanks for the support DC. If all BYU fans were more classy like you it would be a lot easier to accept them.

Wait - you mean offenses can actually do more than 5 to 7 plays a game? Not only that, they can actually add more plays in the middle of a season? Whoa, this is groundbreaking. Someone tell Anae to read this article and watch the Utah game this Saturday? What? You say that there is a BYU game happening that same day? Oh, well, here - I'll go ahead and set up that offense for the Cougs - run right, run left, run up the middle, pass short to DiLuigi, and repeat.
I have a hard time believing that any QB can't do more for BYU this season, which thus leads me to believe that it's not necessarily the QB or the offense, but BYU's inept OC.
Maybe for the Utah game BYU will mix it up a little and throw in a pass to a WR - something to catch the Utes off guard.
Yes, I'm a frustrated BYU fan. Congrats to the Utes - beat up on TCU. What's good for the Utes is good for Utah.
