Any candidate who thinks "PerPupilSpending" is the main criteria to use to indicate whether our education system is working or not... will NOT get my vote.

I agree we need to increase education funding... but NOT just so we can say "We spend more than X States on education".

ANY politician who's main statement/goal on education is to increase PerPupilSpending... has the wrong goal.

We should be focused on increasing QUALITY... NOT SPENDING!!!

Just increasing spending has been PROVEN in numerous studies to NOT increase quality. Politicians who think, "increasing SPENDING increases QUALITY", are NUTS!

Politicians who campaign on the PerPupilSpending mantra of the UEA... have been co_opted by the teacher's Union. There is MORE to Education than just increasing Spending!

If you're going to REALLY talk about public education in Utah... at least talk about the WHOLE thing... NOT just PerPupilSending (PPS is USED by those who WANT to make Utah education look bad).

We ARE doing some things right in Education. We need to do EVERYTHING better. But just focusing on PerPupilSpending... will not necesarily fix ANYTHING.

Any politician who can't see more than the PerPupilSpending UEA_gotcha... shouldn't be leading.

Why I deserve your vote: Peter Corroon says "I am running for Governor because I love Utah and want to focus on the basics upon which our state was founded (side-note: The LDS CHURCH), small, honest and effective government. Utahns value strong, ethical leaders. To support our economy, I will focus on local, homegrown businesses to create jobs. (side-note: Government don't create jobs, people do so that's a lie). Utah's unemployment hit a 26-year high and continues to rise. Over 100,000 Utahns are unemployed. (side-note: that's true, it was caused by RINO GOP's that are interested in money, greed, corruption, above the law, (ignore us common people unless they need your votes while re-campaigning again), career politician's who will take money from any special interest and say or do anything to keep his hold on power. It's secret government by the insiders, for the insiders only today. That's for BIG BUSINESS "ONLY" and their deep pocket's.) Our bulls-eye focus will be on the economy, education, energy, quality of life and making ethics a priority. (side-note: get rid of the illegal's also.)

Very nice of the D News to give ONE of the candidates for Governor this forum. Would have been nice if the Libertarian (me) had been given the same opportunity. I am more interesting than he is, and I have exactly the same statistical chance of being elected. Newspapers no longer have the staff or the space to cover ALL the news; and what they do cover is pretty arbitrary. Fight back. Vote Libertarian, Andrew McCullough for Governor. Make them look dumb.
