First, congrats to the Herriman football players and coaches. great job this year. I am a long time Heriman resident and avid follower of high school football, starting with Bingham(in the canyon!), then Riverton and now, Herriman. In all of my years of watching high school football, I cannot recall a season that has brought so much joy, pride and satisfaction than this Herriman football team has brought this year. I am a frequent, mostly un-noticed visitor to many of the Herriman practices and I have marveled at this coaching staff. Coach Wilson is one of the finest men that I have had the pleasure of being around. His staff is just as impressive. The standard and expectations that Coach Wilson and his staff hold their players to, and are consistent each and every day with it, is rare in todays age of entitlement, me first parents and athletes. Football takes a back seat to academics and personal growth and development, which is why, in my opinion, that this program was able to accomplish this rare feat. My only regret is that I do not have a young son that could play in this program.
