You mean like the shock and dismay that comes from getting beat by 2 WAC teams in one year? Oh wait, that was your team already, right? LOL!

It is going to be so much fun watching Heaps get dragged around RES by the boys in red!

Go Utes, one game at a time!

Utah could lose one or two games this season. It's very unlikely that they'll lose them all however, especially BYU. There won't be any shock or dismay if they lose a game or two. That's football. After all, this season is just practice for next year. That is when the excitement will really begin. :)

    Go Utah!

Is Sammy G a rep for hostess? He's always mentioning cupcakes.....Thing is, he forgets the biggest cupcake of all, BYU!
You see, they will most likely go 6-6 this year. But ONLY because they play the same "cupcakes" that Utah plays. For the life of me I can't figure out why he keeps the schedule thing going. Other than four games, Utah and BYU play the same teams! Difference is, Utah will beat them.

    Utah math: Utah 68 to ISU 27 = 68 to 9

I guess downplaying your opponent's score to make yourselves look better is par for the course in Uteville.

It's going to be so much fun watching the shock and dismay up on the hill when the Utes fall on their faces during the next five weeks.

The mightier the Utes, the harder they fall.

Sorry Anti - simple mistake. Should have been 27, not 9. My bad.

The zoo and the mighty Heaps with their three highest scoring games COMBINED barely beat 68 points! Hmmmmmm. I think you have more things to worry about than if someone on a Ute site accidentally got a score wrong. You zoobies are really grasping at any straws now, aren't ya?

Bitter, jealous zoobies make me laugh!!

    Go Utes! Go Crimson!

Rather have a future with the Conference of Champions and a bed of roses on the horizon than a WAC football "independence" and basketball games in high school gymnasiums!!

Utah 68 to ISU 27. A Utah thrashing of a pretty good ISU team that beat Texas on the road the next week.

Keep beating that Utah schedule drum if it makes you feel better. Whaaaaaah!

It has been a long year for the Y! It's not over either. You can expect a major beat down at RES. Can't wait to see the boys in red mop up the field with young Heaps.

"Remember what happened the last time we were only favored by 7 on the road? We won 68-9."

When has Utah ever beaten anybody 68-9?

Yewties love making things up just so they can feel better about themselves.

    re: SammyG

To be fair, there should be an article about Jake Heaps sharing touchdowns this year.

    1 to Hoffman
    1 to Ashworth
    1 to a Wyoming Linebacker

That's it. Of the 3 passes Saint Heaps has thrown, 3 have gone for TD's, and all to a different person.

SammyG: Remember what happened the last time we were only favored by 7 on the road? We won 68-9. Not saying that is going to happen again, but when we win the game, are you going to be on here next week calling AF a cupcake or are you going to man up and give us credit where it is due?

My guess would be the former. Zooby minds just can't get Used to success that isn't their own!

Go Utes! Can't wait for Saturday!!

Yes, Tew is from Park City, it's good to see a local kid representing Utah so well.

This offense is something special. They really remind me of the 2004 team and I believe that no matter the level of competition, the Utes will get it done. If the Utes go up on Air Force early, expect this one to be over by the second quarter.

Utes are well coached and improving, it is a beautiful thing to see.

Sammyg is right. Not just because the schools the utes will finish up playing are better, but becasue even bad teams generally get better by the end of the year in comparison to the beginning.

(a bad team has lots of room for improvement, but a really good team like the utes dont have lots of room for improvement, so both get better, but the gap between the two diminishes).

Air Force without Tew (Isnt he a native of Park City?) wont be that strong. Utah should take them by 3 TDs.

Unlike the Y, Utah has TD's to share...
They could hardly muster a win at Wyoming.

Sammyg... you mention better defenses... but then you mention ybu??? That's not really fair to those other teams you mentioned that actually do have good defenses.

As far as individual players go... Schlauderaff, Taylor, and Burton... so far... are top 20 (by position) ranked.

The funny thing is that after Utah beats Air Force on Saturday, they will become just amother lousy opponent according to Utah critics. Utah is capable of beating Air Force badly. They traditionally play each other close but I think it'll be differenttjis year.

Thing is, Utah will be challenged next week against TCU bu he other 4 games are close to gimmies. Utah's could lose to Air Force if they play horrible and have a lot of turnovers. Notre Dame isn't very good. Utah finishes 11-1 at worst.

On a side note, this years rivalry game might actually be one of the worst beatdowns byu has ever taken against Utah.

    Go Ute's

    Utah 41

Utah over Alabama in a rematch of the 2008 Sugar Bowl, this time for the national championship!

I've said it since week one, and it's becoming painfully clear to cewgies this is turning into reality.

Both ESPN and Sports Illustrated have stated recently Utah is a legit title contender.

#1 Final Poll. Mark it down

Jealousy is such a lonely word for Sammyg. The thing I like about this team is that they are one of the top offensive and defensive teams in the country yet very few of the players are in the top 20 in any category. This means there is a team effort and it's not about any individual.

Besides the obvious talent factor of having a capable QB and receivers than can catch a ball (Something BYU is trying to figure out!) it's pretty clear that the Utes have not had any competition to challenge them. That will change.

I would guess that this stat has peaked and will anticipate this to start trending downward now that tougher defense will be showing up on the field.

Go Falcons, go TCU, go SDSU, go ND, GO BYU! Time to play real football and challenge the Utes! Let's see if they are as good as their fans say they are.

This is going to be fun, either way, win or lose!
