There is always a reason to worry about ANY team no matter what. But the UTES are for real. This is not cinderella and you are worrying when the TCU clock will ring. More like the Utes are a buzzsaw and when the toughest part of the schedule is about to begin I see a faster speed coming from the Utes. Be concerned and focused but NO FEAR. We should crush TCU by 3 TD's

What's amaing to consider is that this was supposed to be our Defensive rebuilding year...Linebacking questions - unproven secondary - yet here we are with the Fourth ranked defense in the country.....WOW. Incredible really.

Kudos to Whit and his staff - I doubt it will happen but I'd love to see this staff stick around for a long long time. But winning creates opportunity. Hopefully Kilane and A Rod have enough time to groom Scalley and BJ to replace them as coordinators.

What a great time to be a Ute.

Its amazing how much talent and speed is on this years Utah team.
I am still trying to figure out where the weak spot is for them.
Everything people have said might be a weakness preseason hasn't panned out.
The linebacking core was decimated by injuries before the season even started, and they have been a strength on this team.
The biggest problem I have seen in the turnover margin. I'm not sure what to attribute that to though since many differnt guys are involved.
Hopefully Burton can pick off a few more passes this year and help us improve in that area.

Unless we turn it over against TCU, I see a Utah victory this weekend and next.

By years end we might be smelling Roses in Pasedena.

    Go UTES!!!

I understand... When the lions drafted Savoy I felt bad for him too.

That's cool Skierelmo, I wasn't aware of Kiper's rankings. I put him in the 4th round based on my observations of his play versus the play of McCain and Smith. Since Smith went in the 2nd round and McCain in the 7th (if I remember right), I figured Burton would go in about the 4th. Maybe that's why I don't get paid to prognosticate like Kiper does.

I'd love for Burton to go high, first round would be great! Just not to the Lions... maybe the Bucs.

Burton is the kind of player that epitomizes what Utah football is all about.
Hes an all-around good guy with good character.
He consistently improves in a position well suited to his abilities
He is unselfish, yet still has swagger
He is intelligent and knows how to read QBs and Receivers

Keep on representing the school the way you do!

    Go Utes!

Teams will throw more (especially TCU).

Also, teams like BYU, SDSU and ND will figure they can't run against Utah run defense, so they will try to throw more.

Can't wait to see Heaps throwing against Utah....it'd be very fun...

Thriller, Kiper has Burton as his second ranked underclass CB. Round two worst case scenario. Hopefully early!! (The weakest spot for my Detroit Lions)

I think Burton stays. His draft stock will rise incredibly (potential first rounder and 4-5 million signing bonus) if he can lock down in the PAC 12 as well as he can in the MWC.

He's better than Brice McCain but not quite on the same level as Sean Smith. If he goes pro this year, he'll be a fourth-round pick. If he sticks around one more year (which he might seeing as how he'll get much more exposure in the PAC-12) he could be a first-rounder.

On to Air Force! We need to have an epic showdown with TCU, so we need that AF win!

Hopefully Burton will still be with the Utes next year. We were all thinking that with Kruger too. Oh well, we'll see. Just glad to have him this year!!

TCU would be stupid not to jump to the Big East and the Big East would be stupid not to pick up that Texas market. With the Utes gone, TCU will just be a man among boys in the MWC. They will be the same in the Big East, they'll just be bigger boys.

    Go Utes! Go Crimson!

Hedge, I agree with you, but I don't think it's going to happen. I think he is going to be the next in a long line of Utah defensive backs to go to the NFL.

Hockey, appreciate the sentiment. The Utes need to take care of AF to make the showdown what it could be.

The rumors have been swirling for quite some time about TCU. I don't know if a decision has been made, but TCU would most certainly jump if given the chance. Talk about an easy path to the BCS, I'd love to be in the Big East.

Burton has the size, speed and ability to be a solid CB in the NFL. I just hope we get another year out of him at the U.

The defense is amazing so far. The next two games will decide how amazing.
