Hunter was more physical when number 11 ran the ball but cwood swarmed the ball
on d. Again I believe that cwood has the best d in the state.
They seem to have actually cleaned up the fouls already. I remember in prior
years watching Cottonwood lose games because of excessive fouls. I've been to,
or watched all of the games this year and have seen some good football...less
the problems of the past. If they keep it up, they will be unstoppable.
I Will Be: It's the actions of the players not the team reputation that drew the
personal foul penalties. In the last two games I watched them play, they were
flagged for several late hits and facemasks, which were all unnecessary and
downright dangerous. If they don't clean it up, it could bite them in a close
playoff game. They look to be on a collision course with Bingham and I will be
pulling for the Colts if that happens.
Cool: I agree, they are very talented - Hosea made some incredible moves last
night, and their D is much improved. Hunter didn't even get a first down till
late in the first half. As for the personal fouls, they do need to
get better, but not all of them are deserved. Their reputation from prior years
comes back to haunt them sometimes.
Hunter beat a better Cottonwood team last year so this should have been a closer
game. This year the colts took care of business and jumped on Hunter early and
capitalized on Hunter turnovers with 2 defensive TDs. Cottonwood is a very
talented team, but they need to clean up their personal fouls before they can be
called the class of 5A. First year head coach Josh Lyman will take care of that.
I was suprised yesterday when the DNews thought this would be a good game.
Cottonwood is the class of 5A just below Bingham. Hunter is just another so-so
program this year. Nice job Colts.
