SDSU is a great location. If they can continue to win they will bring in some
decent recruiting classes which will only keep things rolling. Both UNLV and
SDSU are schools that should not be too hard to recruit to once you can show
kids they are coming to a winning program.
royalblue,We are a little concerned of playing the tough schedule
that is coming up of @Air Force, TCU, @Notre Dame, and @SDSU.But
really, we aren't too concerned... because Utah has a great coach who inspires
his players to get up for every game. The players look to improve themselves no
matter who they play. Also, Utah has great players.May I ask,
since when it's a bad thing to worry about the state of every team we are going
to play and have played? Yes, BYU is a team that we will be facing this year.
Right now we are concerned that they will be plummeting our SOS.BP,What game(s) did/has Heaps started? I know that he has played
in all 4. But he has only started 1 vs Nevada. So, his record is 0-1 as a
starting QB. Unless you want to count the game vs FSU where he played most of
the game... then he'd be 0-2. Hopefully he can get the win tomorrow. Otherwise
he'll soon be 0-4 with SDSU and TCU coming up next.Good to be a Utah
And what wins can Utah claim this year wwookie with the #112th worst schedule in
the country?Beat somebody then you can talk!
How many games has heaps started? oh yeah, thats right -1-How many
wins does he have? oh year -0-hmmm, and UNMs qb who is a freshman
also has only one start. When BYU ends up with 2 wins this season,
you wont even get the chance to say Heaps played in a bowl game. How sad. (To be realistic, the cougs might get 3 wins if they can get 11 men on the
field against csu, otherwise its only the bottom of the barrel that they can
claim as victims - UW and UNM)And check your Cain stats. You were
off a game. Check facts before posting.
Utah was bowl eligible before Wynn had even taken a snap, and Wynn was
surrounded by experienced running backs and receivers, and had a great defense
with 2010 NFL draftees playing on both units.Heaps is surrounded by
a team loaded with freshmen and sophomores. FOUR true freshmen, including Jake
will be starting at Utah State.Unlike Utah, which claimed that 2009
was a rebuilding year, even though Utah had 6 NFL draftees playing for them
(isn't that over 1/4 of the starters?), this is a true rebuilding year for BYU
with over 40 of the 60 or so players on the traveling squad being freshmen and
sophomores.--------------------------The topic of this
article, however, is SDSU, and if I were a Utah fan, I'd be more worried about
how my own team was going to survive the juggernaut of @Air Force, TCU, @Notre
Dame, @SDSU and BYU, than I would be about how BYU was going to handle SDSU.
BYU better look out. SDSU is 3-1 with their only loss coming to an undefeated
missouri team (SDSU was the closest in all of those games).A loss to
USU this Friday would ruin the season for BYU (if it already hasn't been ruined
BTW, I don't think BYU can beat SDSU this year. At times like this, I feel
better by realizing that I'm not a New Mexico fan.
Ah the altered memory of a Ute Fan. Wynn had the benefit of two excellent
running backs and experienced wide receivers, not to mention a great defense on
the other side of the ball. And with all of that, he still went 3-2, which may
only be one game better than Heaps after tomorrow. While your at it,
why don't you rewrite Utah's performance during the 80's.Its a shame
such a good team has such subpar fans.
to be fair Terrance Cain was the QB that actually got the Utes Bowl eligible
last year he was 8-1 as the starter wynn did great in the bowl but he was not
the reason they were there.
Wow, Utah started a true freshman last year, and he led the team to a poinsettia
bowl win. What do you think these 3 MWC teams are going to do this
year? Chances are good that none of those teams will even be bowl eligible. 2
wins for the whole lot of them 1/3 of the way through the season. You can try to
imitate, but you can never be the utes :)
