Fun and competitive. will this year finally for the serious fan, be a different
story? This serious fan is in the vast minority, because i am
not going to be happy with yet another early playoff exit. The division would
have to be won for success to start-
Are you putting me on about your comment saying Jerry Sloan is probably
unconcerned about players not being in game shape? You must be up in the night.
All the coaches want players coming to camp being in shape, then concentrate on
teamwork and getting the team concept between their ears. Offseason is when all
the work is done on footwork, shooting, passing, dribbling, etc......come on!
This team is going to be an adventure this year, as in BYU football. Deron
Williams is going to be killing himself to get 20+ pts. and 12+ assists.
Shooting, and defense are the two unknowns that worry me. As we take a peek at
the other 5-6 teams that have a legitimate shot at the championship, it is
obvious with the roster turnover, this will be a transition year for the Jazz
for sure to be realistic. Please don't talk about championship you diehards.
This continues to be a 'NICE' team; the only major professional team we have in
this area. Health concerns with the mainstay players like Millsap, AK, and Okur
probably will continue to plague the Jazz throughout the season. Why can't the
league have 20 rosters?
They should bring the Mailman on as a strength and conditioning coach. Then
there would be no worries about anyone being out of shape.
It's ALL about TEAM WORK. If they play as a team, they will be 90% better than
they have been for the past several years. Offense and Defense will take care of
themselves if there is Team Chemistry. I am anxiously waiting to see them
Defense and rebounding wins Championships! I never worry about the Offense. On
paper we added depth and length, I hope the guys can gel and become a threat to
de-thrown the Lakers! GO JAZZ!!
What will happen when Boler accidently slips into his "How tough is Matt
Harpring?" Will Matt just say "uh... Craig. I'm right here" or will he jump
in and say "Well Craig, I come from a long line of football players"Can't wait to hear this:Craig- "Memo for three... Money!"Matt- "That's another 50 dollar for habitat for humanities..."
I studied rhetoric in college and when Sloan said, "(It's) not anything drastic
or anything we need to discuss," when referring to the team's physical
conditioning, it's my opinion that what he meant was that -the team is actually
in pretty good shape, but I can't say that or some of them might get satisfied
with where they're at and not push themselves to get better-.I
didn't hear the whole conversation, but based on stuff I've heard Sloan say in
the past "there's some of them not ready." seams extremely tame. Even if all of
them were ready I have a hard time believing Sloan would admit it on the first
day of camp.If coach Sloan is not worried about how the team
reported to camp then that is definitely good news.
This will be a very interesting year with the Jazz. While I think they might be
hurting a bit with offense compared to last year, I think this team defensively
on paper looks better than the previous few teams. A good offense is not that
great if you don't have a defense that can put the hurt and stop other teams
from scoring. I am very anxious to see how this team will work out. I am just
short of saying the Jazz might be one move away from going to the finals. Let's
see how this group blends together first! GO JAZZ!
