The 1996 team + the 2001 team = the reason Boise St. and Utah got those B(S)C Bowl chances.

I have the same feelings about this game that I have about the first game every year: what are we going to get? I would say it is even worse this year since BYU is replacing so many pieces on both sides of the ball. Time to find out what kind of team we really have.

It's gonna be a good game today! I think BYU has more going for it today than against it. But all the Jake Locker is going to tear up BYU talk is starting to get annoying. If anything I'm more concerned about the additional supporting cast on dubs offense now with Chris Polk and the WRs that are getting hyped up. But, we have a better defense now and we're at home. I definitely expect dub to put some points on the board, but I also expect us too.

We have a great offensive line and I'm stoked about our running game! What I'm really excited to see and I hope happens is JJ DiLuigi having a breakout season opener and season. He's light, fast, and quick and when he has the ball in his hands he makes plays. He just doesn't have gaudy stats because he didn't get a ton of touches last year. He had the highest YPC of any RB last year (including Harvey), well, I guess with the exception of Riley Nelson, but running QBs will always get a lot of yards on draws.

I expect the Y to have its moments simply because they are at home and it is the opener but as the game settles down but the 2nd qtr expect Washington to start pulling away as did FSU last year. BYU can't stop locker and the BYU offense won't be good enough to consistantly move the ball. Wash 35 BYU 24

I'll agree. The 1996 team probably had more pro-caliber talent than any other BYU team. They could destroy any other BYU team in history. Precious memories.

The 1996 team that Sark quarterbacked was probably BYU's best team ever. Went something like 14-1 but played a tougher schedule than the 1984 team.
