I rotate my food storage every day because I only store what I eat every day. I have a menu of 30 meals and my food storage is based on that because it is what my family eats. I have changed the menu from time to time as there are meals that we no longer prefer and new ones that we want to eat.

There are different food storage supplies, there are the short term, of under five years, that should be rotated and always current. Then there are things that store for 25 years, these you hope not to need, but if you do, cause your rotated supplies dwindle down, you have the long term supplies.

It is wise that some people actually have heeded advice given for years! Store food, have years supply, it will be needed, now or in the future, and ROTATE IT, or you will find it won't be much good when you need it!

If you had bothered to finish the article, you would have read:

"...and as she rotates items using the oldest first, she notes it."

Job loss caused them to dip into storage? We're always living in our storage, it's the only way to keep it effectively rotated.
