to avoid the Laker Bracket the Jazz might want to put an "e" league on the court against New Orleans

If the Jazz don't get the 2nd seed, they might do just as well, if not better, with the 4th seed. Why? If San Antonio ends up 8th, THEY could easily upset the Lakers, and I think the Jazz might have a better chance against the Spurs than the Lakers.

I think the Jazz misunderstood....they are racing to win the #5 seed.....why else would they not care about the Houston game?

One and done is right. Stick a fork in them as they are already done....just like last year.

    Got your airline tickets AK?

Call the maid and tell her to get the air conditioning fired up Boozer. Oh yeah, call the movers and tell them to start packing....may not know where, but do know you won't be staying in Utah.

The only call that won't be made is to the strength coach telling him to get started on preparations for next year like Karl & John would have done.

Never been a bigger Laker fan than tonight. If the Nuggets win tonight Jazz will be 4 it is that simple

  • Ties... ugh
    April 8, 2010 1:36 p.m.

    - Den/Utah and Dal hold tiebreaker over Phx and Den/Utah by Division Champion tiebreaker
    - Den owns tiebreaker over Utah
    - Utah owns tiebreaker over Dal
    - Port owns tie-breaker over SA
    - SA owns tie-breaker over OKC
    - SA owns tie-breaker over Dal
    - Phx up 2-1 in season series vs. Den (currently tied in Conf Record)
    - Utah up 2-1 in season series vs. Phx
    - Port owns tie-breaker over OKC by Conf record regardless of OKC win (April 12)
    - If SA, Port, and OKC tie for 6th, Port owns 6th, SA owns 7th, OKC owns 8th
    - Den owns tiebreaker over OKC
    - If Phx beats Utah (April 14) then they own tiebreaker over Utah by Conf Record

  • GO Lakers!!!!

I hate to say this but I will be a huge Laker fan today as they play at Denver. But I promise it's only for today, I swear.

Keep in mind that Denver is coming off a come from behind win last night at OKC, while the Lakers have not played since Sunday.

If Denver loses tonight, then they loose at Phoenix on their last game of the season, which is also the second game of a back to back, then the Jazz will most likely get the #2 seed.

This all depends on IF the Jazz can win out of course.

  • Tie breakers

I don't believe for one second that Phoenix, Denver, and Dallas can win out. So it's going to come down to tie breakers.

Denver owns the tie breaker over the Jazz. If the Jazz win Phoenix they will own that tie breaker.

The Jazz own the season series over Dallas but Dallas will own the tie breaker over the Jazz if they can win their division and Jazz cannot win theirs.

Since the odds are against Denver beating LA, SA, and Memphis, it's going to come down to who wins the Phoenix/Dallas Game. If Phoenix can win that home game I think the Jazz win the #2 seed, if not then we'll probably be the #4 seed facing Phoenix.

So Go Phoenix!!! -Until April 14th then BOOOOOOOO!!

4th or 5th is the most likely. 2nd and 3rd is still possible. 6th is not out of the question.

Actually, I would rather be 6th than 5th. If the Jazz are 5th, homecourt is completely gone and the Lakers loom in the second round if the Jazz even get there.

The Lakers have issues right now, but the Jazz just don't match up. Maybe things could work out like 3 years ago when the Jazz beat Houston and got Golden State after the Dallas flub.

What a mountain the Jazz NOW have to climb.

Utah can't get 2nd unless Denver loses TWO MORE and Dallas ONE more. Denver plays the Lakers, San Antonio, and at Phoenix. Unlikely they'll lose two of those three, especially as two of those three are at home. But, you never know. They could slip up against Memphis at home. Yeah, right.

    Looks bleak.

That means even if the Jazz win out, they'll end up at no better than 4th (the Lakers' side of the bracket), UNLESS Dallas loses TWO more (and Utah's behind Denver). Dallas still has a game at Portland and home against San Antonio, which are the likely losses of their four remaining (three at home).

    Looks bleak.

At least with the Thunder losing to both Utah and Denver, they can't tie Utah without the Jazz losing 2 of its next 3. Unlikely.

Still looks bleak. Just not real bleak.

    4th is better than 5th, I guess.

Gonna be another one and done?

Or at best another 2-4 loss to the Lakers in the 2nd round?

Still a bit bleak after flubbing at Houston.
