Brett Swain has more of an argument than Austin Collie, 58 catches for 973 yards, Austin Collie 50 catches for 839.

Travis Brown had a poor year? 69 catches for 911 yards, 3rd best in the MWC. Whats most impressive about those numbers is Teammate Marcus smith had 86 catches for 1039 yards, 1st best. Im a Ute fan, but I will say Collie is surely deserving of the 1st team, but how do you argue with the 2 selected ahead of him? When 2 teammates can put up those numbers, thats crazy good. If Browns year was bad, then what was Collies? his numbers werent as good.

Both NM receivers first team? what a joke. Travis Brown had a very poor year. No way should he have been ahead of Collie. I agree with the previous statement, way too many NM players on the first team!

How did Russell Lonczyna from the Cougars not make 1st team DB? Are you kidding me? He was by far the best DB in the conference from start to finish. I'm just glad he has another year of eligibility next year. GO RUSS AND GO COUGS!!!

Hey People! Life is about results. When do players from the third best team deserve a significant number of accolades? If they had that many outstanding individuals, they should be slapped around for "winning" third place!

Mack and Unga should have been the back on the 1st team. They got the hose job. Utah still got a major dis for not having anyone on the 1st team fro offense. They are arguably the second best team in the conf. They shut down New Mexico. How are these teams decided anyways?

Some of you readers get so worked up about whether the right players received awards that you can't even see straight. Poppinga is on the list.

As long as there are awards, there will be arguments over who is more deserving. Of course, I'm partial to my Utes, but I congratulate all of the players who received honors for their play.

Wow I can't believe all the NM first teamers. For a third place finish that's awful generous.

Utah should have had someone on the offensive firt team....Godfrey, Richards but mainly Mack or Beadles or Conley. What a joke.

Nobody can reasonably argue against AFA's Calhoun for coach of the year. AFA was picked LAST in the conference and finished 2nd. Totally deserving. Let's see Bronco (or Whittm for that matter) go to AFA and win with one of the worst recruiting classes in all of D1 football.

2 points: McCain is one of the best cover corners in the MWC. Up until the 4th and 18 play he had pretty much helf Collie in check just like he always does with the opposing teams best WR. If you knew football, you would have known that McCain was doing his job when he moved up once Hall broke out of the pocket and had nobody in front of him except himself. Hall made a 1st team all conf. play to get it to Collie. Where was McCains help? You don't understand defense obviously.

How in the world did New Mexico get so many players on the first team? Practically the entire first team offense is from New Mexico. Their offense wasn't that great!

Looking at the first team, you'd think that New Mexico won the conference. Pathetic.

A TRUE Freshman NT, pushed into service due to injury, started every game, shut down every offense faced INCLUDING the six New Mexico clowns listed as All Conf. What a sick joke at the expense of a a bunch of trusting kids.

Ignored, not even honorable mention. Who represents BYU at this selection? The AD?

Don't judge a player by one play. Good thing the voters aren't as short-sighted as you are.

So, looking at the results, you would think that BYU has only average players. With all those average players, to go undefeated in the MWC, you would think that they must have a fantastic coach. But, who won the coach of the year award? I just don't get it.

    1) Bryce McCain has no business being on that second team, especially after losing the game for Collie. I'll never forgive him.
    2) Collie gets an award for kick returner. I saw all their games he didn't do a thing.
