    Between SS and the IRS, those willing to work have to give up a substantial portion of their wages to mandated recipients. There was no voice in the matter of either, especially SS. (Funds collected by the IRS has financed a number of problems over the years, including the no-win wars. Ironically, since the Department of War was changed to the Department of Defense we've won no wars.)

    Far better to have encouraged people to invest in private system instead of Social Security. It was a system doomed to failure; now it's failing.

    Good move politcaly. She gets the senior vote,and the people who will be crippled by a do-nothing policy can't vote yet.
