Summer is in the air and cities and towns all around Utah are celebrating. Whether it's commemorating the birth of a town, city, the state of Utah or even this country, there is no shortage of events and fun to be had. Country Fest

Where: South Jordan, Salt Lake County

The theme of this year's Country Fest is "Timeless Traditions." And in keeping with tradition, this fest will have carnival rides, a classic car show, rodeo, games/booths, a parade and of course fireworks.

Pony Express Days

Where: Clarkston, Cache County

This festival will be full of family fun like Bingo, a parade and a car show. But things may get a little messy with this year's new addition, the Mud Run.

Art & Music Festival

Where: Kaysville, Davis County

They say it's good to start your day with a little exercise, and this festival will allow participants to put their best foot forward with sunrise Zumba.

Throughout the day there will be storytelling, art and quilt displays and even a children's cultural corner.

There will even be an appearance made by Carmen Rasmusen, from "American Idol."

Heritage Arts Festival
Brigham City

When: June 16
Where: Brigham City, Box Elder County

In traditional Utah-style, this arts festival will showcase quilters and other artists in many different realms. There will also be performances, artisans and a car show.

Terrace Days
Washington Terrace

When: June 16
Where: Washington Terrace, Weber County

This celebration may have a fun filled line up of events, with vendors, baseball games, pizza eating contest and a watermelon derby, but it will also take you back in time this year with its Beatles tribute band.

Jacob Hamblin Days

Where: Kanab, Kane County

Jacob Hamblin Days not only celebrates the founder of Kanab, but it is also meant to celebrate the cowboy lifestyle as well. And to give their founder the proper honor, Kanab residents and visitors alike can participate in a trail ride, rodeo, performing arts and even a BBQ.

Wendy Wood Memorial Rodeo
Iron County

When: June 17-18
Where: Cedar City, Iron County

The first rodeo in Utah took place on July 1849, just two years after pioneers settled here.

And although the Wood family doesn't have such a lengthy history with rodeos, when they their children fell in love with it, they made it a big part of their lives.

After their daughter, Wendy, died in 2002 in her sleep after sustaining a brain injury from falling off a horse, her parents named the local rodeo after her.

This rodeo not only pays tribute to Wendy but it is also the closing ceremonies for the Utah Summer Games.

Strawberry Days

As one of the longest continuously running city celebrations in Utah, Strawberry Days brings back traditional fun year after year. The festival includes a rodeo, parade, carnival and even a craft fair.

South Ogden Days

Where: South Ogden, Weber County

This festival not only focuses on family fun, but the community comes together for a good cause, the "No Hunger Games."

Each event will have collection barrels where participants can donate non-perishable food items that will be donated to Catholic Community Services, a food bank.

Events will include a race, basketball tournament, movie in the park, a car show, carnival and parade.

Sunset City Fun Days
Sunset City

When: June 20-21
Where: Sunset, Davis County

Like any summer festival, Sunset City Fun Days has all the trimmings to make a fantastic festival. With events for kids, like a baby contest and a tractor pull, a dance for the youth and a car show for the adults, this fest will have something for every member of the family.

There will also be breakfast, a Dutch oven cook off and of course a parade and fireworks.

Utah Arts Festival

When: June 21-24
Where: Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County

This festival has something for everyone interested in the arts. Not only will there be exhibitions, but there will dance performances, band headliners, street theater and even urban art.

There will even be fun for the kids, with an instrument petting zoo, face painting an make-and-take projects.

Mormon Miracle Pageant

Where: Manti, Sanpete County

Though the pageant started on a much smaller scale in 1967, the presentation of the different pieces of the Mormon history and a depiction of the LDS faith was still memorable.

Today the pageant has elaborate costumes, intricate choreography and music and dramatic lighting, but the story of Mormon faith remains the same.

Balloon Festival

Although the focus of this summer festival is of course balloons, there is much more to the Panguitch Balloon Festival. There is also a dog contest, bingo, a parade and even an amateur karaoke contest.

Tooele Arts Festival

The Tooele Arts Festival has been around since 1985 and artists using various mediums such as, paint, photography, sculpturing and even jewelry, have the opportunity to showcase their work.

There will also be a 5K and a children's art yard.

Founders Day
Pleasant View

When: June 23
Where: Pleasant View, Weber County

To celebrate its founders, Pleasant View holds a 5K race each year. And while a race is fun, this race not only is a celebration but it is done for a good cause. All the proceeds will go to The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and The Boy Scouts of America.

10th Annual Cedar City Arts Festival
Cedar City

When: June 24-25
Where: Cedar City, Iron County

The theme of this year's arts festival is "Celebrating the artistry of all things handmade." And if Utahans are known for anything it's their handicrafts. This year they'll be able to show off their hand made arts and crafts.

Along with the art, there will be also be some good music. The Cedar City Arts Festival has teamed up with Groovefest with the hope that this year will be their best festival yet.

Myton Daze
Myton City

Where: Myton, Duchesne County

Myton may be a small town, but that doesn't mean they don't know how to have big fun. As part of their Myton Daze celebration there will be beauty pageants, a car show, horseshoe tournament, art, hot wings eating contest and even a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament.

Heritage Days
West Haven

When: June 24-25
Where: West Haven, Weber County

Like most summer festivals, Heritage Days will include a rodeo, quilt show, parade and 5K run. There will also be some mutton bustin', a baby contest, a clogger show and a rough stock dance.

Fillmore National ATV Jamboree
Millard County

When: June 25-30
Where: Fillmore, Millard County

For many, summer means a visit to the mountains and camping. And for those participating in the Fillmore National ATV Jamboree it means the same thing, just with an added twist.

The Jamboree takes place in the Pahvant Mountain Range where riders can travel hundreds of miles on ATV trails and even guided rides.

For those not interested in riding there will also be a car show, parade and rodeo in Fillmore.

Round-Up Rodeo Celebration
Utah County

When: June 25-30
Where: Lehi, Utah County

Although this Lehi rodeo has been around for 75 years, the fun has not grown old over time.

Along with various rodeo events, this celebration will also include baby contests, arts show, Lehi's Idol show, motocross and more.

Taylorsville Dayzz

When: June 28-30
Where: Taylorsville, Salt Lake County

Just like your friendly mailman, Taylorsville Dayzz will "go on, rain, shine or snow." And to celebrate the city's birthday there will be carnival rides, a 5K, parade, car show, booths and exhibits and of course, a fireworks extravaganza.

Riverton Town Days

When: June 24-July 2
Where: Riverton, Salt Lake County

Riverton residents will have the opportunity to celebrate their town with the usual summer fest activities like a rodeo, parade, 5K and even fireworks. But they will also have a derby and demolition to help rev up their summer fun.

Star Spangled Celebration

When: June 29-July 4
Where: Hyrum, Cache County

To really get ready for the 4th of July, Hyrum will kickoff their Independence Day fun the week before the big day. At the beginning of their Star Spangled Celebration they will have coed softball tournaments, a youth parade and even a water fight with the fireman.

There will of course be a parade, fireworks and vendor booths, as well as a Blacksmith Fork Freedom Run.
