Editor’s note: The Deseret News picks the MVPs, but the remainder of the all-state teams are based on coaches' votes. Here’s a more in-depth look at all of the first-, second- and third-teamers, including a scouting report comment from an opposing coach.

Opposing coach scouting report
“Best shooter in our region and the state, try to run her off the 3-point line while not giving her a direct lane to the rim. She is an excellent passer and a strong rebounder. Always try to have best defender on the floor guarding her.”
Past all-state honors
2018 — 1A MVP
2017 — 1A Third Team

2.4 steals per game
Season high
23 points at Bryce Valley on Jan. 10
Opposing coach scouting report
“Kapri Orton is one of those players that you have to be ready for anything. She is fast. Very Fast. She can drive so don’t play her to close but she can shoot the outside shot so don’t play to far away. I believe her greatest skill is defense. And she is a well-mannered athlete.”
Past all-state honors
2018 — 1A First Team

Jordyn Kennedy, Piute

1A First Team
Sr., 5-10, Center

Opposing coach scouting report
“Anytime that we played Piute, we knew that we would have our hands full trying to contain Jordyn. Jordyn was tough to guard, because she was so active on the floor. She was always in constant motion and was very good at finding the open areas close to the basket. Jordyn had that fierce competitor attitude that every coach likes to see in a player. She is a great athlete who always played hard and gave her all while helping guide the T-Birds to the championship game.”
Past all-state honors
2018 — 1A Honorable Mention

Brynnli Nelson, Wayne

1A First Team
Sr., 5-5, Guard

27 points vs. Monument Valley on March 2
Opposing coach scouting report
“Brynnli is a leader on the court offensively and defensively. She gave the team energy and ran the offense. She is a player that has great basketball skills and understanding of the game which made her a threat to any opponent. When Brynnli's shot was on, she became a bigger threat.”
Past all-state honors
2018 — 1A First Team
2017 — 1A Third Team

Daan Filfred, Whitehorse

1A First Team
Jr., 5-7, Center
2018-2019 statistics
14.3 points per game
Season high
28 points at Shiprock Northwest, N.M. on Dec. 15
Opposing coach scouting report
“Daan is one of the smartest players I have watched play on a basketball floor. Daan was very smart when the ball was in her hands, and she could make a great move and score or make fantastic pass to a teammate. The thing that stands out about Daan is although she is not very tall she was a force down low. She was part of every rebound on defense and had the great skills to score over taller players on offense. She is the one of those well rounded players every coach loves to have.”

McKina Stacey, Rich

1A First Team
So., 5-7, Guard
2018-2019 statistics
16.0 points per game
6.4 rebounds per game
3.3 assists per game
4.0 steals per game
Season high
27 points at Manila on Jan. 18
Opposing coach scouting report
“McKina is a great player at both ends of the court. She creates great opportunities for herself and her teammates because of her aggressiveness. She shoots well from the outside and also finishes strong when she drives. Her speed and agility make her super tough to defend. She is one of those players that every coach would like to have on their team."

Esther Cox, Valley

1A First Team
So., 5-5, Guard
2018-2019 statistics
13.4 points per game
Season high
25 points vs. Water Canyon on Feb. 6
Opposing coach scouting report
“Esther is one of those all-around players that every coach loves to have. She is not only a great offensive player, but is tenacious on defense. Anytime there was a rebound up for grabs or a loose ball on the floor, you could count on Esther being involved in the fight for the ball. Super active at all times on the floor. Esther was difficult to stop on the floor because she could not only shoot and make the 3, but could also take you off the dribble and score. Esther is a young player who is going to help her team make a lot of noise in the State tournament over the next couple years.”

Ervianne Cly, Monument Valley

1A Second Team
Sr., 5-11, F
2018-2019 statistics
18.0 pointsper game
Season high
29 points vs. Wayne on Dec. 8
Opposing coach scouting report
“Ervianne is one of the toughest players we played against all year. She does so many things well offensively. We tried various things to stop her and she always finds different ways to score. She is a good rebounder and gets put backs. She has a great mid-range game from the high post but is also tough in the low post and from 3 point range. She is also a great passer and shares the ball with her teammates. If you try to double team her she will find her open teammate. In addition to her skills, the thing that makes her a great overall player is her sportsmanship. She competes hard but is respectful and humble.”

Hannah Morrill, Wayne

1A Second Team
Sr., 5-11, F
2018-2019 statistics
13.3 points per game
5.9 rebounds per game
1.2 steals per game
Season high
30 points vs. Whitehorse on Jan. 11
Opposing coach scouting report
“Hannah is a great competitor and has been a key part of that team for 4 years. She causes defensive match-up problems because of her size and is an all-around threat on offense. She is deadly from 3 if you leave her open and if you close out on her too tight she’ll score on you off the drive. She’s very good on the pick and roll and can also post up. She is a good free throw shooter as well. I like that she respects her opponents and in turn they respect her. She plays basketball the right way.”
Past all-state honors
2018 — 1A Honorable Mention

Vanessa Delgado, Piute

1A Second Team
Sr., 5-4, Guard
2018-2019 statistics
7.2 points per game
4.0 assists per game
3.0 steals per game
Season high
18 points vs. Bryce Valley on Jan. 26
Opposing coach scouting report
“Extremely quick! Has great penetration ability and dishes to her team mates once getting into the paint. She has great handling ability and can shoot effectively from most spots on the floor. Always have best/quickest defender trying to stay in front of her.”

Karlee Eyre, Panguitch

1A Second Team
Sr., 6-0, Forward
2018-2019 statistics
8.4 points per game
3.8 rebounds per game
2.0 assists per game
2.4 steals per game
Season high
15 points at Water Canyon on Dec. 20
Opposing coach scouting report
“We always had to have a defender in her face because she was an outstanding shooter from behind the 3 point line. She rebounds and blocks shots really well. She was a tough match up for us because of her length and size.”
Past all-state honors
2018 — 1A First Team

Jamika Nelson, Monument Valley

1A Second Team
Jr., 5-8, G
2018-2019 statistics
15.0 points per game
Season high
27 points vs. Wendover on March 1
Opposing coach scouting report
“Jamika Nelson is very smooth with the ball and great at driving the ball to the basket. She is a type of player you would love to watch but hate to coach against. As an opposing coach you don’t want the ball in her hands, especially in full court. She’s an unselfish player and constantly encouraging her teammates. More importantly, she is a fierce competitor and the heart of the team. She’s a willing defender as well—certainly a college-level player.”
Past all-state honors
2018 — 1A Honorable Mention

Mataya Barney, Panguitch

1A Second Team
Jr., 5-7, Forward
2018-2019 statistics
9.7 points per game
5.2 rebounds per game
1.4 assists per game
2.0 steals per game
Season high
20 points at Water Canyon on Dec. 20
Opposing coach scouting report
“For her size she sure played her position under the basket well. She had a great spin move with her back facing the basket. She was tough to stop. Always did the little things that don't show up in the stats that helped her team win.”

Aspen Collett, Manila

1A Third Team
Sr., 5-10, Forward
2018-2019 statistics
15.4 points per game
8.3 rebounds per game
1.1 assists per game
1.4 steals per game
Season high
33 points vs. Cokeville, Wyo. On Jan. 5
Opposing coach scouting report
“Aspen’s size and ability to handle the ball makes her a matchup difficulty. She has the ability to put the ball on the floor and get by post players, when we would use a guard to defend her she would bury them in the post. Very talented player, worked very hard on the glass and finishes very well around the basket on offensive put backs and drives.”
Past all-state honors
2018 — 1A Honorable Mention

Shundean Begay, Whitehorse

1A Third Team
Sr., 5-5, Guard
2018-2019 statistics
7.3 points per game
Season high
19 points vs. Panguitch on March 1
Opposing coach scouting report

Adriana Delgadillo, Wendover

1A Third Team
Sr., 5-10, Center
2018-2019 statistics
9.2 points per game
1.3 assists per game
1.8 steals per game
Season high
14 points at St. Joseph on Jan. 4
Opposing coach scouting report
“Adriana is a great shooter! She has good footwork and knows how to space the floor as a guard, and how to spot up for a shot. This is her biggest threat; Always being available as a scorer. She is a great teammate on the floor, leading in a quiet but hard working fashion.”
Past all-state honors
2018 — 1A Honorable Mention

Brooklyn Syrett, Bryce Valley

1A Third Team
So., 5-6, G
2018-2019 statistics
9.0 points per game
Season high
20 points vs. Parowan on Dec. 28
Opposing coach scouting report
“Brooklyn Syrett morning is a young player but acts old. She is a true leader for her team. Her ability to shoot the three makes you get out on her but if you do she will drive make the lay-up and draw the foul and make every single foul shot. Above all she is a very classy very respectful person.”

Kinsey Williams, Milford

1A Third Team
Jr., 5-8, F
2018-2019 statistics
9.6 points per game
5.2 rebounds per game
Season high
16 points vs. Wendover on Jan. 11
Opposing coach scouting report
“Kinsey reads the court better than most players and as a defending coach you know there is always help around corner so you much watch for her. One of her successful skills as an offensive athlete is to read the rebound and put it back in. You can’t rest when playing Kinsey Williams”

Lauren Thomson, Rich
